Nate turned to the sales associate, his smile cold and tight.
“If you don’t care about keeping your job, by all means, sell the bracelet to her. Just don’t blme when you
can’t find a job- not just in Amstern City, but anywhere in the whole damn country.”
The associate froze, glancing over at Kelly. Her face drained of color.
It didn’t take long for the associate to realize-this was that woman, the one who had once made headlines for her
rumored affair with Carter Biggs.
She was just a store clerk. How could someone like her go up against the Biggs Group?
Kelly made a show of gently intervening. “Nate, don’t say that.”
“You're just too soft, Kelly. That's why someone like Sharon-a woman who has no shcrawling into a man’s
bed-could steal your guy. Today, I'll teach her a lesson for you.”

Sharon's expression was unreadable, her voice low and cool. “You're not qualified to teachanything.”
She glanced at the two of them, then smiled slightly before raising her voice. “So letask-if Carter's so-called
true love sets her sights on something, does it not matter who saw it first, who tried it first, or who was ready to
buy it? Does it automatically belong to her?
“Other stores treat their customers like royalty. But this one? Sounds like they see customers as servants. Is this
the kind of business the Biggs Group runs?
“To everyone shopping here today-be careful. With the kind of power the Biggs Group holds, offending them
might just ruin your entire future in this country.”
The words were carefully chosen, sharp and deliberate. And they landed.
In an instant, Sharon had flipped the script, putting Nate and Kelly at odds with everyone else in the room.
Now, it wasn't just the staff watching. Customers too-each one well-dressed and clearly of status-began to turn,
their expressions darkening.
One man murmured under his breath, “Sure, the Biggs Group’s done well lately. But they're not the only player
in the market. They're not that powerful yet. If they act like this now, what happens when they really grow? Will
we have to kneel just to make a purchase?”
“Exactly. It’s not like they're the only jeweler around. | say we go buy from their competitors. Driad Jewelers is
just down the street.”
“Yeah, better to avoid Biggs stores altogether. | don’t want what | like being snatched away just because
someone else has more connections.”
“My dad has a meeting with the Biggs Group tomorrow. I'm going to tell him what happened here. With this kind
of arrogance, they're not a good fit for a partnership.”
The muttering grew louder as frustration rippled through the room. The dissatisfaction was clear, and mounting
by the second.
Sharon looked at Nate and Kelly, her smile easy, almost pleasant. “Well, Nate, Kelly, if the Biggs Group's stock
drops tomorrow, | suppose we'll have you two to thank.”
Their faces twisted. Neither said a word.
Just then, amid the low hum of voices, footsteps echoed from above.

A tall figure descended the stairs slowly-poised, composed, and commanding. His sharp features and unshakable
presence drew every eye in the store. The murmurs died down without anyone needing to say a thing.
His brows drew together faintly. “What's going on here?”
Nate looked up, startled.
“Carter? Weren't you meeting with a client? What are you doing here?”
Carter's voice was crisp. “They wanted to look at jewelry. | brought them here.”
Nate immediately pointed at Sharon, his tone filled with urgency. “Sharon's lost her mind! Whatever Kelly likes,
she has to snatch it away! And now she’s slandering the Biggs Group, telling people not to shop here!”
Before Sharon could respond, Carter's cold gaze landed on her.
“Sharon, return the bracelet to Kelly.”
