Chapter 257 Chapter 257: "Room 66B is out of bath towels. Could you bring two over?" Eileen requested, pausing in her tracks as she frowned.
The staff member pulled out a key from her pocket and unlocked the nearby storage room. “I'm sorry, I'm new here and still not sure where things are, and there's a lot to handle. Could you helpfind the towels?" "Okay," Eileen agreed and entered the storage room, her eyes scanning the shelves stocked with the hotel's supplies.
She quickly found the towel section, walked over, and picked up two towels. She was about to leave when suddenly someone covered her nose and mouth from behind.
The wet, white handkerchief with a sharp smell quickly made her consciousness fade.
The staff member swiftly hid Eileen under the cleaning cart and draped a white cloth, concealing her completely. She wheeled the cart out of the storage room, and just then, she ran into Bryan, who was just leaving his room. "Could you bring up three dinners? Make them lightly flavored with no beef," Bryan said, noticing the staff member gripping the cleaning cart nervously. Only her eyes were visible, and she avoided making eye contact with him.
Talking to Bryan, she said again with a frown, "Yes, got it." Then she pushed the cart toward the elevator.
Bryan watched her leave, a sudden emptiness filling his chest, his heartbeat seeming to change.
Latest chapters in gl.☐om An inexplicable irritation kept him from going back to his room. Instead, he opened a window in the hallway to let in the fresh, rain-scented air to clear his head.
After a while, the sudden discomfort made Bryan go to knock on Eileen's room door.
In the underground parking lot, Benjamin stood beside the car, checking his watch occasionally. "Mr. Warren, who are we waiting for?" he asked.
"You'll see when they get here," Kian answered from inside the car, the dim garage lights casting a glow that revealed half of his face.
Benjamin frowned at the vague reply, waiting a few more minutes until he heard footsteps and the sound of a car rolling on the concrete floor.
He then saw a female staff member rushing toward him. The staff member took off her hat and mask as she approached. "Quick, get her out of here before we're spotted!" she urged.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Megan?" Benjamin was surprised.
Megan pulled back the white cloth to reveal Eileen, who was tied up.
Benjamin's expression immediately darkened.
Kian got out of the car, casually placing a hand in his pocket as he stood before Benjamin. "Take her into the car and head up the mountain. There's a lodge nearby. I've taken care of the arrangements." "Mr. Warren, what do you mean?" There was a challenging undertone in Benjamin's voice.
"What's unclear?" Kian raised an eyebrow. "It's just as you suspect. She'll be unconscious for about eight hours. During that time, you can do as you please with her. Don't you have feelings for her? Or... are you unwilling to do it?" Eileen's hair clung to her cheeks, the tips trailing along the curves of her body.
Benjamin only dared a quick glance at her before averting his eyes, remaining silent.
"Are you even a man?" Megan mocked. "She's practically been served to you on a platter. You'd beca laughingstock if you did nothing." Benjamin felt torn.
Yet, Kian's next words solidified his decision.
"If this is too much for you, it's no issue; I can find someone else to escort her up the mountain," Kian said.
"I'll do it!" Benjamin quickly said. "I'll take her up the mountain and stick to your plan." Kian let out a sinister laugh. He patted Benjamin on the shoulder with force. "You understand my full intent, right? This is your only opportunity!" Benjamin nodded. "Yes, I understand." He then bent down to lift Eileen into the car, placed her gently in the backseat, and shut the door. Walking around to sit in the driver's seat, he started the car and drove off.
His actions were swift, but only he knew the turmoil inside him.
His hands shook on the steering wheel, and he could sense Kian's intense stare even through the car window. It took considerable effort for him to appear calm as he drove away.
Amidst the heavy rain, the car moved slowly. Despite the windshield wipers, it was still hard to see the road ahead. But Kian had shown Benjamin the way several times in the last few days, and Benjamin knew the path well.
The lodge that Kian had mentioned was only a ten-minute journey away, yet the trip was fraught with risks. Streams of rainwater poured down the mountainside, looking like there could be a landslide at any moment. Benjamin wondered if Kian had accounted for two possibilities today: either Eileen would die on the road with him, or they would end up spending the night together. Benjamin couldn't predict what might happen. Thankfully, twenty minutes later, he arrived at the lodge safely. The landlady was already there, umbrella in hand, ready to help him bring Eileen inside.
"Please cthis way. The room's upstairs. Be careful," the landlady said, closing her umbrella and leading the way to the second floor.
Benjamin's steps were heavy; he unconsciously avoided looking at Eileen.
"Everything you need is in the room," the landlady said, nodding towards the condoms on the nightstand with a knowing smile. She looked at Eileen lying on the bed and said, "She's quite beautiful; you have good taste!" "You can leave now," Benjamin muttered.
Still smiling, the landlady picked up a garment bag from a chair and said, "Mr. Warren asked you to change her into these clothes, and I'll take the old ones away later." "Leave now," Benjamin's voice hardened.
Seeing this, the landlady left the room.
Once the door shut, Benjamin went over to Eileen and gently patted her cheek.
"Eileen, wake up!" he said.
Yet, Eileen just lay there unresponsive.
"Damn it!" Benjamin cursed, realizing now that Kian's motive for attending the educational seminar was to target Eileen. The real shocker was that all this had been hidden from him, clearly showing that Kian didn't trust him regarding matters about Eileen.
Benjamin loosened his tie, sat on the bed's edge, and buried his hands in his hair, wrestling with an intense internal conflict. He was in a dilemma.
His future depended on Kian, and whether he would remain employed by Kian hinged on the outcof tonight. But, After a long while, Benjamin's phone buzzed with a message from Kian.
The message was cruel and direct.
"If tonight goes well, your salary will be doubled. Plus, you'll receive a percent share of the company's annual profits." It was a tempting offer.
Benjamin's gaze gradually becfirm. He threw his phone aside, stood up, and picked up the garment bag that contained a silky spaghetti-strap nightgown.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBryan knocked on the door several times before it was opened. "Eileen, did you forget to bring-" Bailee assumed Eileen had cback for the towels but had forgotten her room key, so she had thrown on a nightgown and opened the door.
Her hair was still wet and messy.
Yet, upon seeing Bryan at the door, she was shocked and quickly stepped back.
"Where's Eileen?" Bryan asked, his worry deepening.
"Your room didn't have any towels, and Eileen said she would go and get some," Bailee replied. Then she added, "She probably went down to the front desk." After hearing that, Bryan quickly made his way downstairs, his figure briskly moving past the window.
He noticed a car speeding out into the heavy rain, but the intense downpour made it impossible for him to identify the vehicle.
The hotel lobby was chaotic, filled with guests arguing over room bookings and others, left without rooms, lounging on the sofas in the waiting area.
The staff members were overwhelmed.
Bryan stepped out of the elevator and navigated through the crowd to the front desk. “Excuse me, did someone from room 668 cdown for bath towels?"
"No," the receptionist answered promptly. She then began to explain, "Our hotel equips every room with t towels and toothbrushes. We don't typically have shortages, and we handle accommodations based on..." Before the receptionist could finish, Bryan's face darkened. "What about your security cameras?" he asked.
"Sorry, but the cameras aren't working right now because of the storm. Is there a problem? Sensing the urgency, the receptionist said, "I'll call the manager over." But Bryan didn't wait. He rushed to the underground parking lot, got into his car, and drove off into the rain, following the car that had just left.
Bailee also felt that something was amiss. Ignoring her damp hair, she quickly changed clothes and ran downstairs, only to encounter murmurs from the crowd.
"Who in their right mind would rush out in this kind of weather?" "Yeah, he is too young to risk his life like that!" "So reckless, he'll regret it if something goes wrong." Through the lobby's floor-to-ceiling windows, Bailee could see that the car speeding away was Bryan's.
Her heart sank, and she hurried to the desk, asking, "Did you see the other guest from room 668? Where did she go? And why did that man just leave?"
The receptionist was bewildered.
"Sorry, I didn't understand all that. The man just drove off. With a storm like this, it's dangerous. If you know him you should call him to cback!" But Bailee didn't have Bryan's number. Suddenly recalling something, Bailee dashed back to her room and used Eileen's phone to call Bryan. The call connected quickly, and she said, "Bryan, it's Bailee. Where's Eileen? And where are you going?" "Eileen didn't cto the front desk for towels. I think something happened to her," Bryan responded, his fingertips whitening as he clutched his phone.
Bailee's heart pounded as she tried to remain composed. "What should I do?" she asked.
