Chapter 200 ☐☐☐,49% A throbbing headache raged its way through Alexander's skull as he tried to open his eyes. his vision was blurry and the headache ached even more painfully.

He groaned as he tried to shake away the blurry vision.

Where is he? he questioned himself as he tried to get his shit together.

His body felt unusually heavy and his muscles stiff and numb.

As he tried to move, an eerie sound filled the empty space and it was a sound of chains.

Alexander's breathing hitched and a feeling of unease surrounded him, tightening itself around his neck like an invisible rope.

And then there ca voice. "Long tno see, Alex." It was just four words but it was said with a full blown venom Alexander bristled. The voice turned colder and weighted with so much anger that it made the ice crawl down even Alexander's stiffened veins.

Alexander tried to shake his head, trying to clear his eyesight, but there seems to be no change. instintively, he knew that he was in danger.

He has to fight. He has to break out.

The chain bit deeper into his skin as he pulled, biting deeper into his flesh, slicing deeper. The tighter he pulled, the sharper the ache was, but he did not mind.

Desperation and fierceness overwhelmed him.

And then, there was the heavy laughter.

"All my life," the voice continued, idly, as if savoring every word, "I've dreamed of today. Wondered how wonderful it would be." he paused and dragged in a fulfilled breath. "But truly. I never thought it would be this wonderful. So beautiful." A pair of muddy boot stopped in front of Alexander and his heart pounded louder in his chest.

"Mummy and Daddy would be so proud of me." The words sent a chill all the way down to Alexander's heart.

His sight was still blurry, but he could still feel the figure standing in front of him, which was radiating the amount of hatred that could as well as kill a whole village. His brain clawed for answers, but his brain was as slow as a snail.

"Who are you?" He attempted to ask.

a scarred, big hand grabbed his jaw, his fingers deep in his flesh, bruising it intensionaly. Alexander's head was yanked up, and pain flowed from his neck down to every single part of his body as he was forced to look into the eyes which was seething with a hot fury.

The voice snarled. "Look atin the eyes, coward." Alexander's breathing hitched in his throat.

His vision was now finally back to normal. And there, standing before him with his face contorted in anger, despair, and 1/3 14:03 Thu, 13 Mar Chapter 200 loneliness stood Travis Mahoney.

Reality struck Alexander like a lightning bolt.

49% 5 Memories engulfed Alexander, flooding his mind like a tide that could not be stopped, sweeping over him in a deluge of despair and horror. His heart thudded in his ears.

His family! They were in DANGER! All his veins cried out to him to move, to fight, to shatter the chains that imprisoned him. His eyes darkened as raw adrenaline pounded through his veins. He pulled every shred of strength and power he had at his disposal until the chains bit so brutally into his skin.

His veins pulsed, his muscles screamed, his teeth were gritted so hard his jaw ached.

Travis Mahoney stepped back, the filthy grin across his face spreading wide. His wicked eyes gleamed with wicked satisfaction, savoring the view before him like an artist contemplating a canvas unfurling.

This is it.

All this was happening as he had dreamed about it all these years. it was something that he had recast in his mind a thousand times. To witness Alexander so desperate, so angry, so helpless was more satisfying than he could have possibly conceived.

Alexander took a shuddering breath, struggling to hold his temper at bay. He was a man who had knew for a very long tago how to discipline his anger, how to master power rather than be controlled by it. He had to proceed with care. If he lost control, if he gave in to the rage bubbling beneath his skin, he could lose his family.

His voice was husky but calm as he faced Travis's stubborn glare.

"Sorry to hear about what's happened to your family." He snarled, struggling to force the words out. "But I promise you, I have nothing to do with it." Travis laughed, low and unamusing. It was quiet and nearly brittle, but it contained a killing venom that sent shivers through Alexander's spine.

"That's what I thought you'd say." His voice was unnaturally smooth, but Alexander felt the tbomb ticking away under it.

Travis took another slow step closer, his presence suffocating, his hatred visible in the air.

"You are nothing but a coward," he hissed, his words dripping ice and fire. "A spoiled, selfish imposter who hides behind money and privilege to destroy others." Alexander's breath stopped as he tried to keep up.

"My parents did nothing to you." Travis's voice trembled, but his this page only intensified. His fists clenched at his sides, his nails digging into the flesh of his palms. "But you took them from me!" Alexander's head shook, rage and frustration colliding in his chest.

"What would I ever gain from their deaths?" he snarled, his voice thick, desperate. "I was only fifteen!" Travis's lips twisted into a bitter smile.

His tone lower and haunting as he took a couple of steps closer.

2/3 Chapter 200 "Age is irrelevant when you have a family secret to keep." Alexander's gut churned.

What the fuck was Travis even talking? Before he could ask him, a drop of blood hit his pants.

His own. It must have bled from where he had been hit before.

His heart was pounding. He didn't have tfor riddles. His wife, his kids, they were out there. He needed to leave. He needed to rescue them, or at least die trying. And in the depth of his mind, a thread of fear began to take shape.

"What do you mean?" He asked.
