Chapter 764
The man with the knife moved slowly toward Judy, the cold blade flashing.
"ARI
She passed out from the pain. When she opened her eyes again, she discovered she had been dumped at her
doorstep.
The hallway was pitch black. To her horror, she realized her tongue was truly gone.
"Mmh... ugh..." Despite her best efforts, she could only make a few meaningless sounds.
Tears streaming down her face, she first opened her front door and went inside, then rushed to the bathroom. In
the mirror, she saw her reflection.
Her tongue was gone, cut off at the root. She couldn't accept the reality, yet she had no choice.
Judy wept uncontrollably, touching the empty space in her mouth. The bleeding seemed to have stopped, but
she knew the Wilson family wouldn't let her off so easily.
She would never dare speak about that incident again.
How could the Wilson production line issue be resolved so smoothly?
Zachary thought it over and felt that things weren't that simple.
As someone who had once dominated the business world, Mr. Wilson wouldn't easily fall into the trap he had set.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBut logically, solving machinery and other problems in such a short tshould have been nearly impossible.
Could it be that Wilson Corporaton had an ace up their sleeve?
Zachary never underestimated any enemy, nor would he overlook the slightest risk.
He called his assistant into his office and whispered a few words with slightly furrowed brows.
The assistant nodded seriously and strode out.
The Foreign Affairs Department received a notification from the relevant authorities and quickly submitted an
invitation.
After finishing his work, Zachary rubbed his temples, looking at the social engagement he couldn't refuse.
There was no choice. He had sent his assistant to secretly investigate certain matters.
To prevent any mishaps, he had to drive himself.
The political and business worlds had few topics they could discuss together.
So, this gathering was basically filled with endless official talk. Everyone sat composed, smiling and
complimenting each other, pretending to understand even when they didn't.
Zachary didn't particularly enjoy such gatherings-they were boring, but he still had to make an appearance.
After being pressured into drinking a few glasses, he pretended to be drunk and left the private room.
He walked unsteadily for a bit in the hallway. An attendant in the main hall thoughtfully cover and asked,
"Sir, do you need any help?"
Zachary lifted his head, straightened his back, and gave the man a calm look, showing no signs of intoxication.
"No need."
The valet had already brought his car to the entrance.
Zachary took the keys and sat in the driver's seat, but suddenly found himself thinking of Sarah.
What was she doing right now?
He shook his head. The valet knocked on the car window.
Zachary lowered the window and looked at him silently.
"Sir, you've been drinking. Would you liketo call a designated driver for you?"
The valet's voice was unusually clear.
Zachary frowned, got out of the car, and ran his hand through his hair.
This seemed to be the first the had ever disregarded his image in public.
"What a hassle," he muttered, then tossed the keys back to the valet.
The valet was momentarily stunned. By the the cto his senses, Zachary had already walked five or six
meters away.
Zachary wasn't drunk; his mind was clear.
He had simply lost all his energy all at once, walking aimlessly down the busy street.
As he passed an intersection, a piercing car horn suddenly jolted his head.
A bloody, mangled scene covered his vision. Like a puppet who had lost its soul, he numbly approached the
misty haze.
