Chapter 1068
Using a pair of tongs, Armand took out a sweet potato from the stove and placed it on a stainless steel plate.
When Genevieve caught the aroma, she squatted beside Armand and said softly, “Sweet potatoes can be roasted,
too? Oh my goodness, it smells so good.”
“Are you sure it's a sweet potato? It's a potato,” said Armand nonchalantly.
After making sure the colleagues were not looking, Genevieve landed a punch on his shoulder while huffing, “I can
recognize the smell of potatoes and sweet potatoes.”
What a jerk. He's still teasing me for mistaking sweet potatoes for regular potatoes.
When the sweet potato had cooled down, Armand carefully removed the skin, which came off easily. Immediately,
its dark orange and juicy flesh came into view, and its aroma filled the air.

hot air.
The sweet potato melted in her mouth as the faint sweetness lingered.
Thankfully, none of her colleagues noticed she was eating, for they were too busy preparing the food. Moreover,
the smell of the sweet potato was covered by the aroma of the food around the stove.
Peering at her colleagues, Genevieve inched over to Armand and whispered, “It's delicious.”
Suddenly, Armand leaned over and licked the leftover sweet potato from the corner of her lips. “Indeed.”
Genevieve had never expected him to do such a thing in public that she almost fell in shock. Thankfully, no one
noticed it, and she scooted away from him.
After they worked hard for over two hours, the sun had set, and a scrumptious dinner was finally prepared.
Everyone gathered around the table and drank to their hearts' content.
Although Armand was dropped off by his driver, he did not drink. According to him, he wanted to keep at least one
person sober, which was him, so that he could send them back to their accommodation later.
While they were eating and chatting, a colleague, noticing the ring on Genevieve's finger, asked, “Ms. Rachford, are
you engaged?”
Glancing at her ring, Genevieve answered with a smile, “Not yet, but he insisted I wear one in case I ran away.”
Macy joked, “I bet. You're so pretty, after all. I'd be worried too if I were your boyfriend. What does your boyfriend
work as, anyway?”
“Is he an executive at your family's company?” asked another colleague.
Sean, who was sitting opposite Genevieve, merely glanced at her and continued eating his vegetables.
He was not a tattletale, so he told no one about Genevieve's relationship with Armand despite knowing the truth.
Genevieve's colleagues believed that no one other than someone as rich as Cooper was more suitable for her. After

Worried her colleagues might find out if she said anything, Genevieve merely hummed in response, silently
agreeing to their deductions.
A colleague sighed in awe. “He must be really young and handsome, then. I doubt a woman as pretty as Ms.
Rachford would fall for an old dude.”
Someone in the crowd grew expressionless.
The more they talked about it, the more heated the discussion was. One of the colleagues even dragged Armand
into the conversation, asking, “Mr. Faulkner, there are rumors of you dating Ms. Gaudette. Is that true?”
Genevieve was on the verge of strangling the colleague who asked that question. Her anger spiked even more
when she glanced at Armand.
Just say you're not dating each other. Do you really need to think of an answer?
Genevieve flashed Armand a smile before piping up, “Mr. Faulkner, she's asking you a question. Why would there be
rumors of you guys dating if there was nothing going on between you two?”
There was a momentary silence before Armand smiled and uttered slowly, “Ms. Gaudette is quite beautiful.”
