Chapter 1067
Upon entering the storage room for vegetables, Genevieve picked up a basket and unlocked her phone to check
her notes on the vegetables her colleagues wanted to eat.
Although she did not know how to cook, she recognized a fair amount of vegetables.
Just as she was picking some vegetables, Armand walked over and glanced at her phone. Following that, he took
out some from her basket and returned them to the shelf.
Genevieve glanced sideways at him, clearly looking displeased. “I had a hard time finding them. Why are you
putting them back?”
“You're looking for potatoes, aren't you? Why did you get sweet potatoes instead?” asked Armand, exasperated.
Genevieve did not think she had made a mistake. “The ones I took were potatoes. I even looked up pictures of
potatoes on the internet. That's how they look like.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“They were all round, weren't they?” asked Armand.
Genevieve was the type who could somehow whip up something using anything the housekeeper stored in the
refrigerator.
However, she would be at a total loss if she were to buy the vegetables herself.
Armand could not help but feel thankful that Genevieve had not simply seasoned the dishes in the past, or he could
have had health problems by then.
Genevieve was about to say yes when she saw the twinkle in Armand's eyes. Realizing something, she pouted. “Are
you teasing me?”
“No. I just think you're not suited to do this kind of work. Here, let me do it,” Armand offered.
Since he offered his help, Genevieve did not refuse. Instead, she helped to name the vegetables according to the
list while he found the right ones speedily.
Suddenly, Genevieve felt a pang of jealousy at the thought of Armand preparing food for her colleagues with his
fantastic cooking skills.
As they were walking back with the vegetables, Genevieve could not help but stop in front of Armand. “You once
told me you'd be my personal chef, and you'll only cook for me.”
Armand raised his brow at her words. “I did?”
Hearing that, Genevieve cursed him in her heart and stomped off with the bottle of oil, ignoring him for the rest of
the journey.
When they returned to the main area, the others, too, had returned with firewood, mineral water, and other
materials. The mineral water was for cooking and drinking, and there was a specific station for washing the
vegetables.
Genevieve was assigned to wash the vegetables.
Fortunately, it was just washing the vegetables, unlike another colleague who had to dirty her hands while cleaning
the meat. The latter task was something Genevieve could not bear with.
Armand said apologetically to Macy, “I'm sorry I can't be of much help since I don't know how to cook. I can be in
charge of the fire, though.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMacy said hurriedly, “Don't worry about it. We have three people here who can cook.”
Soon, everyone was assigned a task. They worked and chatted away happily. The atmosphere was pleasant,
especially when Armand did not put on an arrogant front when he was their boss.
Having nothing to do after washing the vegetables, Genevieve instinctively strolled over to Armand.
As if afraid the others might notice something, she asked casually, “Why are we using something like this to cook?
Isn't it more efficient to use a gas stove?”
Macy replied, “You're obviously someone born with a silver spoon. Earthen stoves make the best food.”
Another colleague standing in front of the earthen stove chuckled. “Ms. Rachford's family is rich. I heard that
Specter Corporation belongs to her family, and Mr. Sutton is her brother. Do you know that massive shopping mall
in Jadeborough? If I'm not wrong, Specter Corporation owns it, too.”
Hearing that, Genevieve said generously, “My parents and my brother are talented at making money, so I don't
have to worry about anything. In fact, I can just laze around and do nothing. If you guys frequent that mall, I can
get a few membership cards made for you. Their VIP card can give you a ninety-three percent discount at all the
stores there.”
“Sure. We'll gratefully accept it.” Her colleagues would not miss the opportunity of receiving such a great offer.
Armand smiled to himself, thinking that she was smart to change the topic easily with a few simple sentences.
