Chapter 118 Unexpected Confession
The next afternoon at 1 pm, Erin and Roman arrived at Fleuverton Airport. They walked out of the
airport pushing their luggage and got into a black van. Since Roman didn’t announce his visit to
Fleuverton City, they kept a low profile throughout the journey.
Roman had been wearing a large mask, sunglasses, and a hat since they departed from the city. Even
Erin chose to dress similarly. Ever since the scandal with Matthew, Erin carried these simple disguises
with her whenever she would be in crowded public places.
In the early hours of last night, Matthew once again clarified on Twitter that he and Erin were only
friends. This flimsy explanation wasn’t convincing to most netizens. Even so, there were still many
diehard fans who, after feeling sad for a few days, chose to support their idol. These fans even
managed to track Erin’s Twitter account.
Although Erin only posted on Twitter once every month or two, the scandal with Matthew caused her
Twitter followers to suddenly surge to over six hundred thousand. Those fans who wished for their idol
Matthew to find happiness left encouraging comments under Erin’s Twitter posts, urging her to treat
Matthew well. They were of the opinion that Erin’s good looks made her worthy of a perfect hunk like
Matthew.
Nevertheless, there were also many lans and internet trolls who left all sorts of offensive comments on
Erin’s Twitter.
Erin was speechless at their rudeness and simply posted a tweet in the morning after she woke
up-“Matthew is my friend, and I appreciate him for taking care of me that night during my heartbreak.”
She didn’t provide any further explanation. She believed that the truth would speak for itself. Besides,
there were too many online haters lo handle. She’d already explained what was necessary. As to how
many believed her, that was not up to her to control.
In any case, if there were any irrational fans who slandered, spread rumors, or harmed her, she could
report them to the police or send
them a lawyer’s letter.
Two hours later, Erin and Roman arrived safely at a five–star hotel near to DragonSky Studios in
Fleuverton City. Seventy percent of the
hotel’s guests consisted of film and television personnel. The hotel was located diagonally across

room was next to Erin’s, and even Roman’s driver, Ken, stayed nearby.
Roman went out with Ken to the studio to discuss matters with the director.
At the moment, Erin was unpacking her luggage in the hotel room and hanging up her clothes in the
wardrobe. She would be staying in
this room for three weeks. Right after she was done unpacking. Erin called Holly and her mother,
Cherry, to reassure them of her safety. Holly even mentioned that she would visit Fleuverton City when
she had the time.
Just as Erin was about to take a shower, someone knocked on the door. She assumed it might be
Roman coming back for something.
When she opened the door, she saw a young woman wearing a blue dress and glasses with a black
frame standing there. She had a smile
on her face as she said, “Hello, are you Roman’s assistant?”
Erin replied, “Yes, I am.”
“I’m Liliana, the assistant of the famous actress Megan Zeigler. You can call me Lili. Miss Zeigler and
Mr. Blair are good friends. She asked me to pass a bottle of red wine to you so that you can pass it to
Mr. Blair.” Liliana held a bottle of red wine that had a fancy red ribbon tied to it in her hand.
Megan had just won an academy award last year and was a rising slar. She was incredibly beautiful
and considered one of the few natural beauties in the entertainment industry. Erin was amazed that she
was Roman’s friend.
“Sure. I’ll pass it on to Mr. Blair.” Erin received the wine respectfully.
Liliana reminded her specifically, “Please be careful. This bottle of wine is worth three hundred
thousand dollars. If you break it, I’m afraid you won’t be able to bear the responsibility.”
When Liliana said the last sentence, she was clearly looking down on Erin, but she didn’t think much of
it. Three hundred thousand dollars was indeed a significant amount. As someone with a debt of eighty
million dollars, even if she had to pay ten thousand dollars in the event of breaking the wine, it would
pain her greatly.
She carefully held the bottle in her hands and nodded. “Don’t worry. I’ll be very careful.”
Liliana nodded and left.
To be on the safe side, Erin didn’t even close the door to her room. Instead, she walked into the
bedroom with the wine and placed it on the desk before returning to close it. Just as she was about to
close the door, Iwo men walked past outside.
Just when Erin was startled and wanted to take a better look at the man who just passed by, one of
them turned back and made his way to
her door.
“Oh my God! It’s really you, Miss Erin. Why are you here?” Matthew, who was dressed in trendy
clothes, took off his orange sunglasses and hugged Erin excitedly. His manager deliberately cleared his
throal noisily behind him. To think that she would run into Matthew here, Erin was bewildered.
“Ceylon, you go ahead. I need to talk to Miss Erin.” With that, Matthew handed his suitcase to his
manager.
Erin felt a bit awkward and didn’t know what to say. She was subsequently pushed into the room by
Matthew, who closed the door after he got in. Matthew’s manager stood outside the room, looking
conflicted as he silently deliberated, “Isn’t Matthew aware there’s scandalous news about them all over
the Internet? Does he want it to blow up further?”
Inside the room, Erin asked. “I was about to ask you the same thing. Why have you come to Fleuverton
City?”
Matthew sat down on the sofa and replied, “I came to DragonSky Studios to film a show. The director is
my friend. I’m just making a cameo appearance for my friend’s production.”
“I see.”
Matthew’s gaze landed on the suitcase not far away. “What about you? You said you found a new job.
Are you on a business trip now?”
Erin nodded and answered. “Yes, I guess you can call it a business trip. My new job is being an
assistant trainee to Roman.”
Upon hearing that, Matthew stood up in surprise. “Roman?”
“Yeah.”
His brows furrowed with a hint of uncertainty. “Are you talking about the famous actor, Roman Blair?”
She smiled faintly. “Yes, it’s him.”
Her affirmation caused Matthew’s expression to sour. He complained. “Miss Erin, this is so unfair of
you! When I asked you to be my assistant, you refused me flatly. But now, you’ve suddenly become
Roman’s assistant. Aren’t you discriminating against me?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Are you kidding? How would I discriminate against you? It’s just that taking your fans‘ feelings into
consideration, I thought it would be better for me to keep my distance from you,” she explained.
Matthew sighed and said, “Are you still upset about the photos? I’m sorry, it was my fault. My manager
is already trying to handle it…”
Seeing him blame himself, Erin consoled, “No, I don’t blame you. It’s normal for paparazzi to take
photos of celebrities, after all. Still, I don’t want that kind of news to spread around again. It really
affects my life and my mood. I hope you can understand.”
Matthew walked up to her with his amber eyes focused on her. With a charming smile, he said. “Maybe
what I’m about to say will make you unhappy, but did you know? I’m truly grateful that someone took
those photos because the woman in those pictures is you, and not
anyone else.”
The twinkle in his eyes was captivating and made one’s heart skip a beat. Erin felt her cheeks heat up.
She didn’t know the meaning behind Matthew’s words, nor did she know how to respond to them.
Matthew became even bolder and held her hand when she was at a loss, unsure of what to do. His
gaze was exceptionally gentle. “Miss
Erin, even though we’re five years apart. To me, you’re not an older sister figure but just a girl. So, from
now on, I’ll just call you Erin.”
Erin was momentarily stunned. She didn’t expect their encounter to suddenly progress into something
romantic like this.
She quickly adjusted her emotions, pulled back her hand, and playfully punched his firm muscles. She
laughed and said, “Matthew, stop joking around. I’m five years older than you. You shouldn’t be so
impudent and forego formalities!”
Erin’s refusal and feigned ignorance made Matthew feel embarrassed. He awkwardly chuckled and
said, “I didn’t expect you to reject me by using a lame excuse like our age difference …
Before she could speak up, Matthew walked away with long strides. In the end, Erin just let him go
without saying anything further. Shel thought Matthew might have just been carried away at the
moment and would come to his senses in a few days.
After Matthew left, Erin could finally go for a long overdue shower. Unfortunately, she was interrupted
by a phone call. As soon as she saw
