Chapter 115 Implantation “Yeah.” When Nancy replied, she was all smiles. Miles hadn't only been collaborating with Miller Corp on business dealings, but the relationship he shared with Edward seemed to have improved too, perhaps owing to Stella and Miles’ relationship.
After the conference regarding the joint effort of Miles Conglomerate and Miller Corp, Miles returned to Hollowcrest City. Unexpectedly, the first person who cto him when he got back was Yulia. She handed him her ncard as she spoke. “Mr. Grant, | just set up my own trading company which will be dealing with building materials. | hope we can work with each other in the future.” Written on the ncard she handed to him was the nof her company, Yulia Trading. It didn’t seem like a huge company, and he couldn't help but wear a frown on his face. Why would she choose to deal with building materials? Is she trying to compete with Stella? A common phenomenon among family businesses was that members tended to be involved in similar trades while venturing out, as they would normally share their connections among themselves. However, Meridian Trading, which was where Yulia used to work in, dealt with electronics, while her father set up business in the clothing industry; neither had anything to do with building materials.
Therefore, Miles knew the only reason she chose to venture into that trade was to compete with Stella, and this point alone served to demonstrate just how conniving Yulia was. “You might've neglected the fact that | already broke up with Stella.” He leaned back into his chair as he spoke.
Yulia was obviously startled by the information. Did they really break up? However, she quickly regained her composure and wore a smile on her face. “I'm only here to talk about business with you. It has got nothing to do with Stella.” Hearing that, Miles gave her a knowing smile. “Well, you can leave now, seeing that you've achieved what you chere to do.” Due to his resoluteness in sending Yulia off, she left sheepishly. Nonetheless, she was glad to hear that he had broken up with Stella. By that point, she was obsessed with Miles. Even if she couldn't have him, she was determined to not let him fall into Stella’s hands.
When she was walking down the stairs, she spotted Matthew, who glanced at her when he was coming up the stairs. After that, Matthew entered Miles’ office and he questioned, “Why is Yulia Johansson here?” As soon as he said so, he noticed the ncard on the table, which made him frown. “Building materials? Does this have something to do with Stella?” Miles’ instantly looked upward to fix a sharp gaze on Matthew; it was a warning and reprimanding look that stunned the latter. At the stime, it was frightening, so much so that Matthew was sweating profusely. His first thought was that his instinctual worry toward Stella had rubbed Miles the wrong way, which caused Miles to be furious at him.
They used to be friends even though Miles knew Matthew fancied Stella. The only reason Miles didn’t break off their friendship was because Matthew had been trying to play matchmaker. However, he stepped in as Stella's knight-in-shining-armor despite the fact that Miles already had his own plans during the incident in Murdough.
Matthew's relationship with Stella had always been a splinter in the flesh for Miles throughout his relationship with Stella. Therefore, that incident was the last straw for Miles that prompted him to break up with Stella.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtUpon catching wind of their break up, Matthew had cto Miles. This time, he cto play the peacemaker.
First off, he dismissed the rumor of him kissing Stella that he overheard in the washroom. He explained to Miles that he was merely draping a blanket over Stella, but perhaps it was the viewer's point of view that made it seem like what it wasn’t, so he hoped that Miles could let it slide. As for the matter in Murdough, he only kept Stella company on her trip there because Miles wasn't picking up Stella's calls.
Upon hearing that, Miles clenched his fists while mulling over Matthew's explanation. Haha... It's already dubious enough that you were draping a blanket over her.
“Miles, you're overthinking things. Even if Stella is still your girlfriend, she should be allowed to maintain healthy relationships with other males. We haven't been contacting each other as of late. Heck, we had almost cut contact by this point! You can’t just strip her of her right to have male friends just because you're dating her! | never knew you could be this narrow-minded!” Matthew had been staring into Miles’ eyes when he expressed himself.
On the other hand, Miles acknowledged that he had an inexplicable urge to scoff at Matthew's words. Perhaps | am just that petty.
Meanwhile, Yulia sent Stella a text after she got into her car. After all the upsetting events as of late, there was finally something worth celebrating. ‘Stella, | heard from Miles that you had broken up with him. Is that true? | haven't done anything to instigate that though.’ She purposely made herself sound innocent.
Upon reading the text, Stella's heart sank, but she replied to it nonetheless. ‘Yes, we broke up.’ ‘So he wasn’t lying to me,’ Yulia texted back.
Stella was rubbing her palms on her phone, while her heart was as heavy as lead. It sure seemed like Miles had told Yulia about their breakup, but she didn’t understand why he would do that.
Also, everything that had happened served to illustrate Yulia’s character. Ever since she was young, she would snatch Stella’s toys, dolls, and clothes from her. Although they laughed it off after reaching adulthood, Stella was now certain that Yulia’s character had remained the sthroughout her life. In short, there was a serious problem with her character.
If Yulia ever got her hands on Miles, he would be suffering major losses without him knowing. Therefore, Stella sent him a message. ‘She isn’t a compatible match with you.” He texted back. ‘Who isn't?’ Then, she typed her reply while wearing a frown. ‘Yulia Johansson.’ Judging from Yulia’s personality, Stella knew she would be relentless in pursuing Miles, more so when she was so close to him, and that they were both in Hollowcrest City.
‘So who would you deem a good match with me? You?’ After sthought, she figured his reaction to her message was within expectations. Since she already apologized to Miles before this, she gave him another reply that read, ‘I have changed!” Actually, Miles wasn’t sure how he should reply to her when he received the text. Therefore, she didn’t get his reply even after spending a long twaiting for it. Leaning against the railing, she thought to herself, People usually say that women are hard to read, but why do | have a feeling that | am getting nowhere close to understanding Miles either? Soon, Yulia’s trading company began its operations. She needed to export a batch of rebars to Venezuela, but she couldn't find enough supplies, so she was feeling a little anxious about it. To run a trading company, one had to either have a factory or the means to obtain supplies at a low cost in order to make profit.
However, she always knew that Stella had srebars lying around in her factory that she didn’t seem to care about, for it was on the verge of bankruptcy. Therefore, she gave Stella a call, only to find out that her phone was switched off.
The reason was that Stella was in the hospital for a checkup due to frequent pains in her stomach area. One day, she was once again suffering from a stomach ache when she was in her shop. While clutching her stomach, she deemed that the bouts of pain felt odd, for they didn’t feel like period cramps, nor did they feel like pains during an upset stomach. It might have had something to do with gynecological diseases.
Hence, she told the shopkeeper about it. Despite shesitation, the shopkeeper then asked, “Might it be an implantation? Have you had sex with a man recently?” Upon hearing that, Stella was dumbfounded. Although she did have sex with Miles, she didn’t deem a pregnancy possible, since she was informed that she wasn’t easily impregnated. If it turned out to be a pregnancy, it would mean that she had gotten pregnant twice within a year. That would in turn mean that she wasn’t infertile but the exact opposite of it.
Besides, the aching had lasted for quite stime. She already took sherbal medicine, as well as did pregnancy tests. The results turned out to be negative, but the pain persisted. Therefore, she ended up deciding to go for a checkup at the hospital.
Her test results indicated that she was suffering from a case of acute cervicitis. The doctors were even kind enough to give her a detailed analysis about its causes. First off, Stella had a weak constitution, and she was no longer a virgin. Furthermore, going through an abortion in an unhygienic hospital previously only multipled her chances of developing acute cervicitis. She would have to be on IV drips for three days, which she agreed to, but she couldn’t help but wonder if she would be having that disease for life.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe wished to be rid of it, so she obeyed the doctor's orders. However, her condition wasn’t severe, so she only needed to cto the hospital on tto get her IV drips instead of being hospitalized. When she was waiting for the drips to finish, she wanted to check her phone out of sheer boredom, only to find that it already ran out of battery.
Her phone must have died when she was having an appointment with the doctor, but fortunately, she had her power bank with her, so she could charge it on the spot. Her phone linked her up to business opportunities, so she might already have missed out on multiple chances when her phone was dead.
Meanwhile, Yulia was standing at the entrance of Miles Conglomerate when she gave Stella a call, only to find out that her phone was switched off. Not wanting to make another call, she figured it was the perfect excuse to go seek out Miles. Therefore, she entered his office despite the fact that he was already getting annoyed by her frequent visits.
“Mr. Grant, | need more supplies for the batch of rebars that I'll be exporting to Venezuela. When | passed by Uncle Korbin’s factory, | noticed that he had a lot of rebars. From what | gather, the factory is now under Stella, but her phone was switched off when | called her!” Yulia lifted her phone to show the call log as proof. “I waited for a long while, but she didn’t pick up!” “Go get your uncle.” Miles didn’t even spare her a glance while continuing with his work.
“But he toldto cto you if | can’t get Stella! Since Stella is now based in Murdough, she isn’t going to get much out of this. Besides, you're far smarter, and a better visionary. So please tellif you're willing to helpout.” Yulia was standing in Miles’ office as she spoke.
“I won't be helping you.” He was still writing his documents without even sparing a glance at her, seemingly unaffected by her pleas.
Yulia sulked for a moment. If he wasn’t willing to help, she would have far less opportunities to get in touch with Miles, for he would be the perfect stand-in if Stella wasn't the one dealing with the contracts and inspections.
Truth be told, Yulia only took on the project as an attempt to get her hands on Miles rather than putting her focus on making profit. In order to achieve that, she had given it her all, and was ready to make the last stand.
“Mr. Grant—" She begged him in a coquettish voice, which she assumed that men would generally like.
However, Miles raised his voice while repeating himself. “No way!” He knew that prices in Venezuela were low, whereas the rebars in Stella's factory were all quality products, so she shouldn't be selling them short. Although he had never been to her factory, he had read through the purchase records, so he knew all about it.
After being rejected so directly, Yulia wore an awkward expression. Still, she was certain that as a woman, she was bound to have a harder tcourting Miles compared to the other way round, so she was determined to get her hands on him when Stella wasn’t in Hollowcrest City. “I'll go to Stella in Murdough if you don’t agree to help me, considering that | can’t reach her over the phone anyway!” With that, Yulia marched out without waiting for his reply.
