"Why is it ridiculous?" Lily looked at him solemnly without a smile on her face.
"Is it not?" Alexander questioned back. "What kind of world are we living in today? In the age of science and technology, things
develop at breakneck speed, and there are so many advanced weapons. Do they think we still live in the prehistoric era and that
they can take over the world by controlling people's minds?
“Look at the number of people in this world. How many medicines have been developed, how can they ensure everyone will react
accordingly to the medicine, and how can they be sure it'll work on everyone? Isn't this just a fool's dream?" He shook his head,
not knowing who would have such ambitious ideas.
However, Lily seemed to disagree. "Not necessary. It's not impossible."

"Huh?"
"You don't necessarily have to control the entire population to rule the world." After a pause, she continued slowly, "If they want to
take over the world, or even just certain countries, controlling the right people's minds will be enough."
Alexander seemed to realize something when he heard that. He narrowed his eyes. "You mean..."
Before he could finish speaking, the phone rang.
Initially, Lily did not want to pick it up. However, her phone kept ringing, making it impossible to ignore. After looking at Alexander,
she leaned over to get her phone, clicked on it, and saw a few text messages from Olivia.
"Lily, he's back."
"I heard him coming in."
"Let's not talk about this first."
Lily did not reply. She assumed Olivia must be on edge right now, and the text tone might alert Edward, who had just chome.
Once Lily had finished reading the texts, she looked up at Alexander. "Edward has gone home."
"I know." Alexander was not surprised. He nodded and said, "I was going to tell you. My men saw his car coming out at the gate of
the vaccine research base."
"You didn't call your men back?" Lily was startled as she thought he had dismissed his men.

"No. | wanted to, but after thinking about it, Edward's car was still inside. Even if he left in another car, he would still have to return
for his own later. It was as | expected!"
He raised his wrist to check the tand said, "His car left the vaccine research base more than half an hour ago."
"So, he might have been in the base this whole time?"
After all, no one saw Edward leave. Therefore, it was tough to say. Regardless, he was clearly involved with whatever was going on
in the vaccine research base.
"That doesn't matter. The important thing is that the vaccine research base may not be good news."
Lily felt her heart grow heavy as she looked at Alexander.
‘He's right. This new vaccine research base is similar to the old research institute. Once they successfully develop the vaccine,
they'll give it to the world. The whole world!”
