S31 145. Want to Keep Playing
Louis and Emily laughed on Melanie's lap. They like the way their grandmother read fairy tales. The witch's voice
was so precise.
“Repeat it again, Grandma. This part.” Emily pointed at the previous paragraph. As soon as Melanie finished
reading, she and Louis giggled again. Frank and Kara shook their heads at their behavior.
“Kids, don’t you want to go hyet? It’s dinner tsoon. Poor Grandma Susan if she is eating alone at
home.”
Louis shook his head without thinking. “Did you forget, Daddy? Philip and Auntie Barbara are accompanying her
at home. Grandma Susan will definitely be okay if we have dinner here.”
“Yes! Louis and | want to wait for news from Uncle Jeremy. We hope, that Eva isn’t sad anymore so she wants to
make peace with Ava.” Emily nodded cutely.
“Philip and Barbara has gone. It looks like they want to have dinner out. Do you have the heart to leave Grandma
Susan alone?”
“There's still Nora and the others, Daddy. Grandma Susan won't be lonely.” Louis raised his eyebrows carefree.
Beside him, Emily repeated her nod.
“Besides, we often have dinner with Grandma Susan. Today it's Grandma Melanie's turn to accompany us.”
Melanie snorted at Emily’s sweet voice. “How could you useas your excuse? | know you guys wanted to be
here so you could
continue playing. You must have known that Barbara and Philip were going out. It’s Saturday night. You don’t
want to be lonely.”
The twins smiled faintly.

“No, Grandma. We really want to accompany you. The proof is we are sitting here, not running around.”
“Con, Grandma. Continue the fairy tale. We haven't gotten to the part where the witch was defeated by the
princess.” Emily patted Melanie's hand.
However, just as Melanie opened her mouth, the sound of a wheelchair caught their attention. Bryan turned out

whether they succeeded in persuading Eva or not.
“Uncle Jeremy!” The twins jumped down from Melanie's lap.
How is Eva? Is she okay?” Louis stopped right in front of Jeremy. His head looked up, waiting for a change in his
uncle’s stiff face.
Jeremy pursed his lips. Before he could answer, Ava interrupted, “Eval is fine. You don’t need to worry.”
“Really? Did she want to accept your gift? Have you reconciled?”
With a small smile, Ava glanced at Mrs. Connor. “Not yet. Eva didn’t know | was coming. But the good news is
she accepted my saving book.”
“She’s not sad or angry anymore?” Louis shook his head with round
eyes.
“It seems she’s still angry,” Mrs. Connor answered. “The house was very messy when we arrived. She even
threw a photo frat the door when we were about to enter. But after a short conversation, think she started
to soften. Hopefully her heart will melt with Ava’s sincerity.”
Ava stroked her mother’s shoulder. Her gaze was gentle. “Thanks for helping me, Mom.”.

“You're welcome, Darling. It's my duty to unite you. What mother doesn’t want her children to get along?”
Ava’s heart warmed. She forgot the last ther mother called her that. So far, only Eva had received
affectionate calls like that.
“Does it mean Eva's problem is over? We just have to face Mrs.
Moore now?” Emily clenched her tiny hands in front of her chest. Her eyes sparkled, her legs jumped a little.
Jeremy rubbed his head. “I think so.
“Woohoo! Our enemies are getting fewer and fewer. After Daddy defeats that witch, we can party happily!”
Louis stretched his arms above his head. Everyone smiled seeing his
enthusiasm.
Suddenly, a cheerful voice cfrom the door. “Are you guys looking forward to attending our party?”
The twins leaned to the side, peering through the distance between the people in front of them. Seeing
Barbara's presence, their smiles brightened.
“Auntie!” They ran to greet Barbara.
Philip, who was carrying two stacks of pizza boxes, gave a sullen face. “Is Barbara the only one who gets
hugged? | don’t?”
Emily chuckled. “Be patient, Uncle. We can’t hug two people at once. Our arms are still small.”
While moving towards Philip, Louis continued, “Now, it’s our turn to hug you.”
Philip chuckled as the two toddlers hugged his legs tightly. His heart. becas warm as pizza in the boxes.
“By the way, why are you guys buying pizza? Didn't Auntie say she’s on a diet? She’s afraid her wedding dress
won't fit?” Emily asked after releasing the hug.
While Philip shrugged his shoulders, Barbara waved one hand. “Being on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t eat
anything, Emily. We can still eat what we want. Just in limited portions.”
“Don’t tellAuntie only wants to eat one bite, then the rest is for us. We'll get fat, Auntie!” Emily put her
hands on her hips and puffed out her cheeks.
“Yes, Auntie shouldn’t buy that much. Mommy said we shouldn't waste food.” Louis put on a wise look. His index
finger was even pointed at the side of his face.
“Nothing will be wasted, Louis. There are a lot of people in this house. Count the servants and security guards.
They will definitely run out. Now, instead of arguing, how about we just eat? Think of this as an appetizer.”
Louis shook his head helplessly. “Look. Auntie deliberately gave us a lot of food. If we're all fat later, only she and
Philip will look cool.”
Barbara laughed at the accusation. “I'm not that bad, Louis.”
A second later, she waved to everyone. “Con, Ava, Mrs. Connor, let's go to the dining room. Brother, Sister-
in-Law, don’t just sit down. Get up! By the way, where is Mrs. Bell?”
“She's still in the room!” Louis pointed towards the stairs.
“Louis, Emily, can you guys call her down? No one can miss this

moment.”
Instead of running straight away, the twins’ eyes narrowed.
“This moment? What moment? Do you want to celebrate Ava and

Mrs. Connor's success in comforting Eva?” Emily’s head tilted. Her cheek becchubbier on one side,
Barbara smiled faintly. She leaned closer to Philip then linked their
arms.
“We made an important decision today.”
“Letguess. Auntie must have already decided where your wedding will be.”
The curve of Barbara's lips suddenly turned frozen. Her eyes flickered to see her nephew. “How do you know?”
Louis folded his arms in front of his chest and spoke casually. “You have checked the venue three times, Auntie. If
it’s four times and there's still no booking, you will definitely be kicked out.”
Everyone immediately laughed at that logical reason. Even Philip secretly smiled. Only Barbara pursed her lips.
“What's wrong with that? We only get married once in a lifetime. Or
course we have to choose the best venue. Right, Philip?”
Philip held the pizza together in his left hand and then put his right arm around Barbara's waist. “Yeah, | agree.”
“Daddy and Mommy also got married once, but they didn’t go back and forth to check the venue. Only once,”
Emily teased while holding back laughter. Her index finger stood up in front of her chin.
Hearing the joke, Barbara's eyes widened. “You want to find trouble with me? Do you wantto tickle you until
you can't breathe?”
Barbara stamped her foot once. The twins immediately ran towards the stairs while laughing loudly. “Run for
your life...”
The others shook their heads at their behavior. It wasn’t until the voices of the two toddlers disappeared at the
end of the stairs that

their attention was focused on Barbara.
“So, which venue did you choose?” Kara asked softly. Barbara smiled again.
