Mrs. James briefly explained what had happened.
Gabriel's cold gaze swept over Aries. “There's no need to give anyone face,” he said sternly. “They chose to cause trouble at a
wedding, so they don’t deserve any. I'll arrange for someone to have the Winters family leave immediately.”
Evelyn's face paled. She turned to Gabriel. “Gabriel, Aries really knows he was wrong.”
Gabriel's eyes were sharp. “Knowing something is wrong yet doing it anyway, then apologizing only out of fear of punishment, is
meaningless.”
Evelyn's face flushed red and white at his rebuke. She turned her gaze to Sylvia. “Sylvia, could you say a word for Aries?”
Mrs. James asked in surprise, “You two know each other?”
She had assumed Sylvia was a friend of Gabriels.
Evelyn enunciated clearly, “Sylvia is Aries’s brother's girlfriend.”
Just as she predicted, Gabriel's expression darkened even further.
Sylvia, however, remained unfazed. She looked calmly at Evelyn.

and old enough to know better, yet still hurting a three-year-old girl, | would teach him a lesson he'd never et.”
Her words were sharp and righteous, making Evelyn's face grow even more sullen.
Aries kept his head down, but his eyes shot a venomous glare at Sylvia.
Seeing that Gabriel was siding with the James family and Sylvia wasn't getting involved, Evelyn had no desire to oppose him for
the sake of the Winterses. After a quick calculation, she immediately changed her tune. “Sylvia is right. | shouldn't have been so
soft-hearted and agreed to plead their case. | didn’t understand the full situation. I'll take Aries back right now.”
Her tone was sincere as she turned to apologize to Mrs. James. “I'm sorry to have bothered you.”
With that, she quickly led Aries away.
Mrs. James looked at Gabriel. “Thank you, Mr. Carnes.”
Gabriel replied, “Even though it’s our family’s celebration, we will not tolerate malicious behavior. | will handle the Winters family.
You just need to look after Kya.”
Mrs. James smiled warmly. “Alright.”
Gabriel said his goodbyes to Mrs. James and left with Sylvia.

Evelyn led Aries to meet Mrs. Winters. On the way, she said to him, “You saw it yourself. | really tried my best, but Sylvia interfered.
Does she have something against you?”
Aries’s swollen eyes were dark and malevolent. “I will never let that woman get away with this,” he seethed.
A glint of dark light flickered in Evelyn's lowered eyes.
From a distance, Mrs. Winters spotted them and hurried over, her face full of hope. “How did it go? Did the James family relent?”
Evelyn looked troubled. “You should ask Aries yourself.”
Mrs. Winters paused, then said urgently, “Evelyn, please just tell me. Aries isn't good with words, he won't be able to explain it
clearly.”
Evelyn put on an indignant expression. “When | first went, Mrs. James had already calmed down. She said she would giveface
and not pursue the matter. But then—"
“But then what?” Mrs. Winters pressed impatiently.
“] don’t know why Sylvia showed up, but with just a few words, she made the James family change their minds. Now they refuse to
let it go.”
“What?!”
Mrs. Winters's eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets, blazing with fury. “Sylvia did that on purpose?”
Aries added fuel to the fire. “She totally did it on purpose. | yelled at her at Grandma's funeral, and she’s held a grudge ever since.
This is her revenge!”
Evelyn feigned a look of realization. “No wonder!”
Mrs. Winters was so angry her chest heaved. “I'm going to find her!”
