Hannah froze, her face alternating between red and white, as if she had been slapped in public.
She seemed shocked by Catherine's sharp words.
Yvonne glanced sideways at her mother, then smiled gently at Catherine. “The courtyard looks lively, and | see a few friends |
know. I'll go say hello.”
Catherine nodded. “Alright, go ahead.”
Yvonne nodded to Janice as well before getting up and leaving.

Xavier sat in the study for a while. As more and more guests arrived, he went out to the garden for a smoke.
The garden was filled with people. Even though it wasn't the wedding day, the guests were all formally dressed—the men in suits,
the women adorned with jewels, chatting in small groups on the lawn.
That was why Norah, from her upstairs window, spotted the one who stood out immediately.
Black T-shirt, black pants—his usual casual attire. But his tall frand rugged, untamed aura were exceptionally eye-catching.
In the short tNorah watched him, she saw two or three girls pretend to casually walk past him.
Norah's lips curved into a smile. *He can try to hide, but he still ended uping to my house*, she thought.
Her eyes darted around playfully. She picked up her phone and sent him a message: [Are you busy today?]
After sending it, Norah stood by the window and watched him. She saw Xavier pull out his phone and stare at the screen.
Ten seconds, thirty seconds, a minute...
He held the phone in one hand and a cigarette in the other, showing no intention of replying.
Norah bit her lip, fighting the urge to go straight downstairs, walk up to him, and demand to know if he was really cutting ties with
her. He wouldn't even reply to her message!
