Grace frowned slightly. “Gab, stop talking to Sylvia like you're interrogating her. This isn’t your unit, and not everyone is a spy you
need to be wary of.”
Gabriel's tone was indifferent. “I'm not. I'm just making conversation with Ms. Jarvis.”
Grace scoffed. “Is that what you call conversation? No wonder you're still single in your thirties.”

Gabriel's gaze swept over her briefly before he addressed Grace. “You and Ms. Jarvis can chat. The thing you askedto fix isn't
done yet. I'll be back later.”
“Alright, thank you for your hard work. I'll be sure to reward you later,” Grace said, her tone familiar and teasing.
Gabriel shot one last look at Sylvia before turning and walking away.
Once he was gone, Grace smiled apologetically. “He grew up in the military and has been surrounded by men his whole life. He's
not used to talking to women, so he cane off a bit cold. Please don't take it to heart.”
Sylvia smiled. “It’s fine. I'm used to it.”
“Used to it?” Grace asked, puzzled.
“I'm used to people with his kind of personality,” Sylvia said smoothly.
“He’s actually a very good person. You'll see once you get to know him,” Grace said, taking her arm and leading her toward the
villa. “Did you see your room? Letknow if there's anything you need.”
“It's lovely,” Sylvia replied.
After they had chatted for a while, Grace said, “| bought sclothes and sports equipment for the children. Two of my students
went to town to pick everything up. They should be back by now. I'm going to go check on them.”
“Do you need help?” Sylvia asked.
