As the two were in a standoff, Estelle’s phone suddenly rang, catching her off guard. She glanced at the caller ID,
her heart pounding in anxiety
Jonathan noticed too, “Answer your phone.”
He stayed put, almost brushing against Estelle’s face. When she picked up her phone, he didn’t back off.
Estelle took a deep breath to calm her nerves, subtly turned her head to answer the call, “Manley?”
“Estelle, I can’t have dinner with you tonight. Something’s up with our overseas operations, I gotta fly out
immediately
Estelle was taken aback, “So you’re leaving now?”

Jonathan suddenly bit Estelle’s earlobe.
Estelle almost let out a groan, but she held it back, pushing him away with one hand while pretending to be cool,

Thinking she was with Kya, Manley sounded reluctant, I might have to stay there for a few days, take care of

Manley’s voice was gentle, “Wait for me to come back.”
Estelle was in an awkward and angry position. She didn’t know how to respond to Manley’s affection. She knew
there was no future for them, so all she could do was laugh lightly and say, “I gotta hang up now.”
As she hung up, she swung her elbow towards Jonathan’s chest.
Jonathan was quick to react. He grabbed her wrist, slowly raised his head, and gently licked his lips, his eyes both
tender and cold. “This is the last time. Don’t ever talk to him like that again, or ill ship him off to Australia.”

Estelle was stunned, then her eyes flared up with anger, Jonathan, don’t push it!”
Jonathan smiled, “I only have eyes for you.”
His words only fueled Estelle’s anger, but just as she was about to explode. Jonathan moved in again. His cold lips
met hers as he slowly said, “Don’t argue with me. If you say something I don’t like, I’ll find other ways to shut you
up
Estelle wanted to bite him!
Jonathan looked down at her pink lips, thinking about tasting her again. But he was also afraid of pushing her too
far. Seeing her swollen red eyes, he finally backed off and returned to the driver’s seat
Estelle turned towards the car window, her tight face expressing her current anger.
Jonathan had upset Estelle and himself, taking a solid five minutes to calm down before restarting the car.
On arriving at the Lamont family, Estelle got out of the car without a word and headed towards the yard.
Jonathan leaned against the car door watching her angry back. He took a deep breath, realizing that his impatience
had not brought them closer but had pushed her away
He just couldn’t wait anymore!
