Chapter 729
Lillian was the toughest and most charming lady Maja had ever met.
Maja was deeply influenced by her and remembered every word she said, so she lowered her head.
“I’m not sure.”
No sooner had she spoken than the guy unlocked her handcuffs, only to cuff her hands again.
“Go to Miss Lillian’s grave, and maybe there’s something there.”
Maja was on high alert. As she was being led out, she heard the sound of a helicopter in the sky.
That’s got to be lan!
Her pace slowed down instantly, her peripheral vision scanning everything around her, looking for a chance to bolt.
She didn’t believe this dude was really taking her to Lillian’s grave.
Considering the state the uncle’s house was in, Lillian’s grave must’ve been searched already and probably found
nothing.
This guy saying this now. He’s just trying to get her guard down.
Where he’s actually taking her, who knew.

The dude repeated, his tone even colder.
“Don’t try anything funny. There’s a mini bomb in your handcuffs. If they’re forcefully removed, your hands will turn
into minced meat.”
Maja had planned to slide down this slope at high speed and had no idea there was something in her handcuffs…
The dude was clearly prepared.
He looked up at the helicopters in the sky, a cold smile playing on his lips, pulling her over.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, as long as you cooperate, I won’t harm you.”
Back in the car, Maja saw the man driving towards the busiest part of Crystalbrook Valley, a chill running down her
spine.
The helicopters in the sky were restricted, the buildings here were tall, and people on the helicopter could only use
binoculars to see and could only see the surface of the buildings.
She saw the dude enter the mall, and the mall doors closed instantly.
All the customers inside still had no idea what was happening. The dude took out his gun and fired a few quick shots
toward the ceiling.
Pandemonium broke out, people screaming, some even crying out of fear.
Maja kept her cool, watching as dozens of gun–wielding men came out from hiding, shedding their disguises to
reveal matching outfits.
These guys were all in on it, and they had taken the entire lobby hostage.
The upper floors of the mall were also under control.
Maja’s heart was racing. This was her first encounter with such violent individuals, taking so many people hostage,
obviously planning to make headlines. There were about a hundred people in the hall, all crouching with their heads
in their hands; some were stifling their cries, but even after the gunman’s warning, the crying didn’t stop.
The next second, a bullet went right through a young girl’s forehead.
“Ahhhh!”
Screams filled the air, and the gunman fired two more shots into the air. The screams died down, and the hundred–
plus people trapped there were trembling with fear.
Maja was forcibly seated on a couch. The dude who first kidnapped her pointed a gun at her temple.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, do you know where that thing is?”
Maja kept her cool. Just moments ago, this dude was pretending to mean her no harm, but now they had this entire

Clearly, that thing was very important to them, and they didn’t even care about the attention they might attract
here, possibly even from the entire nation.
“I don’t know.”
No sooner had she said this than the guy pointed his gun at an older man in the crowd.
“Bam!”
The old man was shot in the chest and fell down.
What a low blow!
The old man’s children were right there, witnessing this. They were so scared they covered their mouths, and didn’t
even dare to cry out loud.
They cradled the old man’s body, tears falling drop by drop.
Maja knew these thugs were trying to use the lives of the people here to threaten her.
They seemed capable of anything, and they didn’t even fear death. They came prepared.
However, to Maja’s surprise, she saw Connie Raymond in the crowd.
Connie didn’t expect such a situation when she came to Crystalbrook Valley for a sketching trip. She had planned to
stay here for a month, but now she was helplessly squatting on the ground. When her eyes met Maja’s, her body
involuntarily shivered, tears of fear rolling down her cheeks.
