Chapter 431
Samuel was all decked out like a playboy again today, driving a flashy sports car and giving her a
smile.
“Penny, congrats on becoming the CEO. You’ve already partnered with Silverstone Enterprises; why
didn’t you hit me up?”
It wasn’t that Maja didn’t want to seek Samuel’s help, but every time she did, he always managed to stir
up a hornet’s nest.
Samuel opened the car door, gesturing for her to get in.
“If you won’t come to me, then I’ll come to you. How about we team up?”
This time, Maja didn’t decline and hopped in.
Samuel gazed at her short hair and let out a sharp intake of breath.
Damn, she’s gorgeous!
Everyone in their circle gossiped that lan’s wife was alreal eyesore. If Maja was ugly, then no one
would dare to call themselves good–looking. “Did you chop off your hair for work?”
He teased, his sharp eyes catching sight of the scarf she was wearing. It looked nice, but with his
experience, he instantly sensed something was off. “I don’t want to go where lan is.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMaja didn’t know where Samuel was planning to take her, so she just let him know.
Samuel held the steering wheel, finding the situation amusing.
“Why do you dislike your husband so much? You should learn from Ms. Shepard. I heard she hurt
herself and has been blowing up lan’s phone.” Maja was taken aback and gave him a sideways glance.
I
“Mr. Brown, do you have nothing better to do? You even know about girl talk.”
“I’m not idle; I just care about things related to you.”
The car fell silent after he said this.
Maja didn’t know how to respond, and she frowned.
Then he added, “If lan really wants to marry Carlene, what are you going to do?”
Confusion flashed in Maja’s eyes. She countered, “If he doesn’t want to marry Carlene, then who does
he want to marry?”
His silence spoke volumes.
Samuel glanced at Maja’s neck.
Although he hadn’t known Maja for long, he knew she wasn’t a loose woman.
So, the marks on her neck had to be lan’s doing.
lan might be part of their circle, but he was on a higher rung. Every time he showed up, people kept
their distance, except for a few close associates.
The two outstanding men of the Raymond family were, to some extent, proùd individuals.
lan having an affair with a woman, and more than once at that, was out of character for him.
Clearly, Maja hadn’t realized that.
Samuel found this amusing and chuckled.
“You’re right; who else could it be other than Carlene?”
He parked the car at RosenGarden.
“I wanted to take you to a charity auction, but if it’s inconvenient, you can just go rest.”
As the night fell, Maja got out of the car and asked, “What about our partnership?”
“When you’re ready to treat me to dinner, we can start talking about our partnership.”
“Okay.”
Maja chuckled without hesitation.
A partnership should come with some perks.
Samuel sat in his car, sighing only when he couldn’t see her figure anymore.
Actually, he planned to take her to the charity auction. Even though it was just a show–off fest for the
socialites, if she didn’t want to see lan, he didn’t need to facilitate a meeting.
After all, he genuinely wanted a deeper relationship with her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe hoped the two of them would divorce.
This was the first time Samuel attended an auction without a female companion.
The so–called charity auction was just a display of wealth by these families–nothing interesting.
However, lan was indeed there, and sitting next to him was Carlene.
Samuel couldn’t resist and sat behind them.
He had no interest in the auction, casually splurged a million on an item, and then just observed lan.
Then Samuel pulled out his phone and dialed Penny, making sure his voice was loud enough for lan to
hear.
Ian didn’t care much for the charity auction either. But since Maureen Raymond invited him, he
considered it a good deed.
After purchasing an item, he planned to leave, but then he heard Samuel’s voice.
“Penny, is your husband home?”
Maja had just finished her shower and thought Samuel might be drunk when she heard him ask this.
Samuel kept his eyes on lan while speaking, noticing lan’s sudden pause. He seemed indifferent, but
his movements slowed down.
“He’s not? How about we have dinner together tonight? I’ll come over, you cook, and after we eat, I’ll
agree to that thing you mentioned.”
He was actually talking about the partnership, but he deliberately made it sound ambiguous.
Maja frowned. “Mr. Brown, are you drunk?”
