Chapter 1140
“Maja, I don’t care what the hell you’ve taught Cornelia, but you’ve got to put her back on the straight and narrow,
or I swear I’ll end you.”
Omar’s tone was venomous
Maja had no doubt that if she refused, Omar would not hesitate to pull a gun on her.
So she remained silent, casting a mocking glance as the car sped toward the hotel.
It wasn’t until they reached the hotel lobby and the receptionist treated Omar with the utmost respect that Maja
realized why Omar knew about Cornelia and Antonio’s secret rendezvous. The hotel was owned by none other than
the Casson family.
It was like a stab in the heart
From the moment Cornelia had decided to abort her child, Maja knew that this woman was capable of great things
Omar, holding the room keycard, stepped into the elevator, his expression noticeably off–kilter.
Maja stood by his side, noting his trembling fingers that missed the elevator buttons multiple times.
She thought, “Served him right, the bastard deserved this”
Maja watched coldly, making no attempt to assist
It took Omar a solid ten minutes to finally hit the right floor button.
Upon reaching the Presidential Suite where Cornelia was staying, he raised his hand to swipe the keycard open the
door.
But he didn’t dare

He began to worry that his constant pressure would only push her further away, but he couldn’t stand the thought
of her entangled with another man.
They might be inside that room right now, on the windowsill, or in the bathroom, just like she used to be with him.
Cornelia used to wrap her arms around his neck, promising to marry him.
The depth of her affection was so evident, Omar was certain that no matter how far he strayed, she would always
forgive him
He hesitated for three minutes before handing the keycard to Maja
“Maja, you do it
Maja promptly tossed the keycard back at him. I’m not doing your dirty work”
The keycard hit the wall with a thwap
Omar immediately grabbed Maja by the throat, his face livid.
“Are you asking for a death wish?”
Before he could finish his sentence, the door swung open and Cornelia, clad in a nightgown, stood in the doorway.
Upon seeing Omar choking Maja, Cornelia’s eyes narrowed. She grabbed a nearby vase and hurled it at Omar’s
head.
Omar didn’t have the chance to dodge, or more accurately, his mind went blank the moment he saw her.
The vase shattered against his head, and blood began to ooze
He released Maja, staring blankly at Cornelia
Cornelia, however, didn’t spare him a glance as she rushed over to Maja.
“Mr Pennyfeather, are you alright?”
Maja shook her head, rubbing her throat and gasping slightly.
The air was heavy with the scent of blood
It was then Cornelia turned to Omar “Get out”
Omar’s gaze, however, was drawn to the inside of the room.
The bed was in disarray, clothes strewn about. It was clear what had transpired.
The sound of running water could be heard from the bathroom. Undoubtedly they had finished.
Omar felt as if a string in his head had snapped, he roughly grabbed Cornelia.
“You’re coming with me!”
Without hesitation, Cornelia bit into the webbing of his hand, drawing blood.
Omar just watched in silence as she bit him.
After a while, Cornelia let go. her teeth aching.
1 won’t go with you, Omar. If you truly care about me, stop looking for me. Every time I see you, I feel sick.”
“So you don’t feel sick when you see him. Do you know how many exes he’s had? He’s a musician, what kind of
future can he offer you?”
At this, Cornelia laughed
now
Still better than you. The trials and tribulations I’ve been through with you could crush any normal person. If it

just die together!”
As she spoke of dying together, she pulled a dagger from the entrance and held it to her neck.
Omar was left speechless, feeling as if his heart was being clenched.
Maja remained silent, knowing Cornelia wouldn’t go through with it. Cornelia had promised her that she would
continue acting and overturn the public opinion online.
She wasn’t ready to give up on her life just yet.
Omar watched Cornelia, his eyes reddening, but he couldn’t form a coherent sentence.
It wasn’t until Cornelia had died‘ once that he realized how unforgivable his actions were.
Why was he so confident that her love for him outweighed everything else?
Perhaps the naive, daydreaming Cornelia did think that way, but she disappeared the moment her parents died.
Omar regretted deeply, wishing he had revealed his Casson family identity sooner, wishing he had used his wealth
to give her family a better life.
What was he thinking back then?
He probably thought it was amusing, watching this family of nobodies struggling in their humble existence, looking
so happy
He was there when her fingers were ruined, her defiant eyes were irresistibly beautiful.
She saved him, and he recognized her immediately
A casual lie about being a delivery man, and she believed him.
At first, he just wanted to see how long they could last, so he played the part of a bystander, occasionally showing a
bit of pity that would earn him praises from her parents like “You’re such a good man.”
Back then, Omar found it amusing to watch them being tricked. The thrill was indescribable.
