Chapter 1858:

After the last great performance, this was supposed to be Elyse’s moment to shine. But since her pregnancy,

Chloe had to scale back her workload, which left her feeling a bit frustrated. She had been on the brink of

promoting a top-tier talent, a violinist with exceptional promise.

Yet, Elyse’s condition meant Chloe couldn't push her as hard, reducing her appearances to a few interviews and

giving her ample tto rest.

After three months, Elyse’s condition stabilized, but she still struggled with persistent nausea and weight loss.

Meanwhile, Jayden shifted most of his responsibilities to Brook, taking on only a fraction of his usual workload so

he could care for Elyse.

One crisp autumn day, as Elyse sat in the garden, a gentle breeze carried the scent of chocolate cake from the

table. The smell immediately nauseated her, and she covered her mouth.

Seeing this, Jayden quickly dabbed her mouth with a tissue, his concern evident. “It's been over five months;

why is the nausea still so intense? Could it be something more serious?”

Driscoll quickly reassured him, “It’s quite normal for sto experience nausea throughout their pregnancy.”

However, Jayden remained distressed. “But she’s losing too much weight with this ongoing nausea.”

Driscoll looked at Elyse’s delicate frame, equally worried.

Her pregnancy had been a challenging journey. Despite simprovement, her appetite remained poor,

requiring varied meals daily to coax her into eating.

Elyse rinsed her mouth with the water Jayden offered and requested, “Please, take the cake away. | can’t bear

the smell of chocolate.”

Jayden, puzzled, replied, “But you were fine with chocolate just last Sunday. What's changed?”

With a weary expression, Elyse simply shook her head.

Feeling at a loss, Jayden gestured, “Please, remove it and ask the chefs to prepare something else.”

Driscoll quickly whisked the cake away and headed to the kitchen.

Elyse glanced at the chair, her frustration evident. “My nausea is so severe. | think it's your fault.”

Jayden raised an eyebrow. “I've been taking such good care of you; how can it be my fault?”

Elyse shot back, “I'm carrying twins!” She exclaimed angrily, “Most mothers have just one baby and don’t feel

nauseous like this at this stage! Who else should | blame?”

Despite her reproach, Jayden couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness. Three months earlier, during a routine

check-up, they discovered she was expecting twins, which had been a delightful surprise for both.

The thought of having two children with Elyse filled Jayden with joy. He thought he had never been happier. Even

as Elyse scolded him, he couldn't contain his excitement.

Suddenly distressed, she snapped, “You can still laugh? | can’t eat anything, and here you are laughing! Do you

even care about how | feel?”

Her emotions got the better of her, and she began to cry, feeling overwhelmed and sensitive.

Jayden wrapped his arms around her, trying to soothe her. “Don’t cry, sweetie. It's all my fault. | was too

enthusiastic, which is why we're having twins. I'll take it easy, | promise.”
