Chapter 0184
"Wow, that has been years, Morgan!"
"Just like old times then!" | smiled at her, and she nodded.
"Sorry, my room is nothing exciting, they are setting a house up for me. But, withwanting to chere so
suddenly, they had to putin here." Bailey explained, and | understood. She had been in a rush to get away.
After the situation with Miles had got worse from what | understood.
My Dad and Jordan tried to explain things toas best they could, in a bid to warnaway from Miles. Not
that it had worked. | am beginning to wish | had taken heed of their warnings now... but sadly, my feelings and
stupidity had won over. And the packhouse in which she was living seemed nice enough. Her room was modern,
and had all she needed, including an en-suite bathroom, which was more than many packhouse rooms did.
"Honestly, Bai, it is fine, | am just glad to be here." | admitted. "Glad to be away from there."
She nodded. "I know that feeling!"
"How did you do it?" | asked her. “He had to have hurt you so much more than he ever did me."
She shook her head. "I don't know that he did, Morgan, because there is a difference betweenand you. While
he did sshitty things to me, I never fell for him. There were never any feelings between us. Yes, there was
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtthe matebond, but it wasn't difficult to fight when you hate someone the way | did."
| looked at her in shock, | honestly thought she may have had sunderlying feelings for him, especially with
the matebond. "You never wanted him?"
She laughed, almost ironically, before shaking her head. "Wanted him dead maybe." she joked. "But no. Not
even a little. I hated him, Morgan. When we were young, and | mean young, yeah, we got on great, but as he got
older, he turned into such a jackass, and treatedso shitty. Madefeel so bad about myself. For no real
reason. And | ended up hating myself, all because of him. And because he was the future Alpha, most of the
others our age in the pack would do the same. Made my life hell. Why do you think I didn't like going out? Why
do you think | spent so much twith my head in my books? Because | had little else to do. Because it was
better than sitting thinking about the shit going on in my life, all because of that fucker."
My heart tightened at her words. | was one of those others. | had willingly joined in with my own sister's bullying.
| had made my own sister's life hell. To the point she wanted to leave her own pack.
"I'm sorry Bai, | never knew you felt like that. | thought you enjoyed studying." | whispered.
"1 did. But, it didn't mean | wouldn't
have liked friends and fun the sas all of you. A little more of a light-hearted life than | had. But, like I said, it
made it easier to distract myself with more studying." She toldwith a shrug.
"Why did you never speak out?" | asked, unsure now why she would suffer in silence.
"Oh, really? Against so many?
Because | would not be believed. Especially when the main culprit was the upcoming Alpha. The fucker that
everyone worshiped and treated like the sun shone out of his butt? Yeah, Because that would have worked.” She
chuckled, and i knew she was right. | don't think anybody would have listened to a word of it, had she mentioned
it to anyone. Everyone in pack seemed blind to any wrong doings of Miles.
"| feel so bad, Bai." | wrapped my arms around her.
"It is in the past, Morgan." She wrapped her arms around me. "And it gotmy job. Gotwhere | wanted to
be." "Got you the attention of a grumpy-ass Beta?" | teased, and she chuckled.
"Not a clue what you mean."
"Hmm, | am sure." | looked up at her with a shake of my head. She was definitely holding something back from
me.
"Did Miles hurt you Morgan?" my sister askedsoftly, and | sat myself on the edge of her bed, letting out a
deep sigh.
"Physically, other than grabbing me, and the occasional shove, | guess not, no. Emotionally, yes. But, maybe that
was my own fault for letting him." | told her, and she was quickly by my side, her arms around me, hugging me.
