Chapter 344:
Cathy scoffed. “Sunlight? She's in a vegetative state, not a houseplant. Is sunlight supposed to wake her up?”
Her irritation escalated. “She needs to be moved to the basement today! I'm being cursed by everyone, and I'm
stuck here for at least a week. Kristopher will be around often. What if he stumbles upon her by chance?”
Evelyn, head bowed in submission, murmured, “He won't find out...”
“He won't?” Cathy's gaze hardened. “You're here often enough. Haven't you heard the gossip? What if Kristopher
becomes curious?”
Still not raising her eyes, Evelyn responded, “If he discovers Joyce is still alive, it should be alright. He won't say
anything...”
“And what if he does?” Cathy pressed, her voice rising in anger. “What if he accidentally spills the beans to his
grandfather, mother, or sister? Do you want them to recall your affair with Dad? Or find out we're hiding Joyce
here?”
These accusations darkened Evelyn's expression further. She whispered, resigned, “I understand. I'll handle it
later...”
“Do it now! Take her to the basement!” Cathy demanded sharply, her glare piercing. “I'm heading to bed. She
better be in the basement by the t| wake up!” With those words, she turned and marched to the second
floor, entering the guest room and slamming the door behind her with a resounding thud.
Evelyn remained where she stood, sighing deeply as she watched Cathy leave.

“Miss, did your car break down?”
The taxi driver's question pulled Belinda back to the present as she gazed out the window. She smiled and
responded, “Why would you think that?”
“The folks at Eden View are usually quite wealthy or influential. It's odd to see someone without their own car
here,” the driver explained with a grin. “People who chere by taxi are usually property owners or their
employees. You don’t seem like an employee.”

“I'm not a property owner either. I'm here to see someone,” Belinda replied, amused. She rolled down the
window, welcoming the cool breeze.
“You must be important if you have friends there,” the driver remarked, still smiling.
Just as Belinda was about to answer, she spotted a familiar black luxury car approaching. It was Kristopher’s car.
Surprised, she wondered if he had just dropped Cathy off at Eden View.
A sudden urge to avoid being seen by Kristopher made her want to roll up the window, but it was too late.
The black car sped past them, then abruptly turned around and halted right in front of the taxi. The tires
screeched loudly, prompting an exasperated curse from the taxi driver. “Are you crazy?”
