Chapter 29 He’s Outrageous and Cruel
Daniella was left stunned. It didn’t take long for her to realize who else, apart from Caroline, could elicit
such a hurried and furious reaction from Evan.
Why did Evan hold Caroline in such high regard? She was just a shameless mistress.
With a gloomy expression, Daniella decided since Caroline wouldn’t let her man go, she could not be
blamed for taking matters into her own hands and acting ruthlessly..
After sharing her location with Evan, Caroline composedly placed her phone in her pocket. Jumping out
of the car would be too dangerous. She needed to think rationally.
Caroline closed her eyes and leaned against the car door, contemplating how to confront the situation
ahead.
Ten minutes later, the car came to a halt.
She lifted her gaze and saw a dilapidated warehouse in front of her.
“Step out of the car!”
Abruptly, the car door swung open, and a man seized her arm
Feigning fear, Caroline looked at the unfamiliar man before her. “Who are you? Why have you brought
me here?”

To safeguard the child in her womb, she quickly offered, “I can walk on my own. I’ll get out of the
car.”
The man warned her, his gaze fierce. “Don’t try anything foolish.”
She nodded hastily, walking into the dimly lit warehouse under his intimidating glare.
As she entered, she recognized three familiar secretaries, seated like loyal subjects, surrounding a
man at the center. Her suspicions were confirmed.
It appeared that Mark was looking to seek revenge on behalf of his cherished secretaries.
As Caroline approached Mark, she quickly devised a plan. Being alone, she knew that fighting
against them directly would be difficult. Her objective was to buy time until Evan arrived to save her
Manipulating Mark’s weakness for beauty and seeking pity would be her strategy.

Caroline blinked and struggled to produce tears. “I had no other choice. If I didn’t obey Evan Jordan, I
would have been fired too.”
She looked up at Mark, her expression pleading. “Mark, can you save me?”
Mark found himself captivated by her act. Unable to resist, he asked, “Do you want me to save you?
Caroline nodded. “Mark, you are an affectionate and loyal man. I saw that when you came here with
these secretaries. If I work for you, you wouldn’t scold or humiliate me, let alone lock me up.”
Mark was slightly taken aback by Caroline’s words. “Did Uncle Evan lock you up?”
Caroline raised her hand to wipe away her tears. “Yes, he’s outrageous and cruel!”
“Don’t be deceived by her, Mark. You don’t know how resolute and decisive she was today. We
witnessed it!”
“That’s right, Mark. She’s just acting pitiful in front of you.”
“Mark, please seek justice for us…”

and gazed up at him. “Mark, I can lurk by his side and poison him if you’re willing to save me.“?
After a moment of silence, Mark burst into laughter. “Okay, excellent! I’m sure Uncle Evan doesn’t
expect that his mistress of three years despises him so much that she wants to poison him to
death!”
