Chapter 1622

| turned and grabbed a tissue to wipe my hands after | finished washing them. A smile appeared on my face. So,

that was why she was angry.

"Is it important to you whether we're happy or not? What's important to you is that Zedd lost his temper because

of this, isn't it?"

| knew it sounded like a riddle, but she would have no problem understanding it.

The fact that Zedd had lost his temper meant that deep down, he still cared about Cindy, and that was the last

thing Nadia wanted to see. Thus, that was also why she had lost her temper.

"You don't have to be angry if you don't want to. TH give you a piece of advice," | said as | walked forth and

stared straight ahead.

"You have to figure out what it is that you want." | was relieved she did not followwhen | left the bathroom.

When | returned to my seat, | realized the seat opposite Theo's was empty. Cindy had left withoutrealizing.

"Csit down and rest," Theo said as he reached out without needingto ask.

"Where's Cindy?" | asked.

"She said she has to leave first because other matters require her attention."

| pouted.

Theo continued talking, "You can't treat her like a kid and have her in front of you forever, can you?"

Theo placed a piece of sushi on my plate as he spoke. To be honest, those were not my intentions. | merely

wanted Cindy to be here so | could have an excuse to get Theo to leave work and have lunch on time.

However, now that Cindy was gone, my excuse had vanished.

"You should go hand rest after lunch. I've still got a lot of work left to do. You won't be able to rest well

sitting in my office. It'll distracttoo." Theo sounded as if he was grumbling when he finished his last

sentence. He was getting better at this.

However, | could not comply with that.

| began dozing off the minute we arrived back at the building after finishing our meal. Theo, who

seemed able to read my thoughts, ledto the partitioned lounge the minute we entered his office.

Then, he ledto the bed, where he bent down and patiently removed my shoes before helpingonto the

bed.

"Rest well," he said as he pulled a blanket over me.

"What about you?" Everything | had said before this might have been in jest, but now, | was speaking the truth. |

had no idea when | had becso clingy.

Either way, the panicked feelings | had could only be soothed by seeing Theo.

"Alright then. I'll accompany you for a while," he said as he sat at the head of the bed.

| found a perfect position for my head on the pillow. | could lean against him and reach out to wrap my arms

around his waist, which madefeel protected.

He did not want to lie down and rest,

so | knew he would be leaving in a while. | was unwilling to part from him, but before those thoughts took proper

form in my mind, | grew even sleepier and fell asleep for real.

It was three o'clock in the afternoon when | opened my eyes again. | was slightly disappointed when | saw that

Theo was not beside me.

However, when | took another look

at the time, | was thankful that Theo had the discipline to leave. If not, would have caused him to be even more

behind in his work.

That thought embarrassedslightly Thus, | decided to retrieve my phone so I could lie in bed and use it.

Petra called while | was staring at my phone dully and wondering what | should do to spend my time.

When | answered, | was surprised to hear Munchkin's voice instead. "Mommy, will you guys be hfor dinner

tonight?"

"I'm not sure yet because | don't even know if we can finish all our work today, let alone have the tto miss

you, Munchkin."

If it were up to me, | would have put off work no matter how much of it there was the minute | heard that soft

voice so | could rush hand hug him.

However, Theo was still facing a good number of work matters. It seemed impossible for him to go home
