Chapter 35 Who Was That Man?

Sarah took the bus to the supermarket and bought some vegetables and meat. She thought that Christian was not

in a good health right now, so she added more nutrition. She bought a peasant, a fresh crap and a box of milk.

Then she paid the bill and left the market. Because she bought so many things, she thought of hiring a taxi and

went to Christian’s apartment.

But she did not know what was going on today, after waiting for half an hour, no taxi was willing to stop. Just as she

took out her phone and wanted to call Jayson, a BMW X5 stopped in front of her.

“Mr. David!” Seeing that familiar figure, Sarah smiled and her bad mood instantly swept away! She saw David

coming out of the driver seat and smiled happily.

David smiled and walked in front of her. He picked the things on the ground and was about to put them in the trunk

when Sarah suddenly stopped him.

“Mr. David, I have something to do today. Go ahead and do your work!” She was going to Christian’s house. If she

let David sent her there, she would be embarrassed.

“It’s okay. I just came back and just walking around. You are being polite to me. Get in the car!” David ignored

Sarah’s objections and put the things in the trunk.

Sarah did not know what to say for a moment. She hesitated and got in the car.

David sat in the driver’s seat and looked at Sarah with a smile, “You must not report me! Tell me, where are you

going?”

Sarah heard her words and laughed out loud. But thinking about where she wanted to go, her eyes darkened, “I am

going to Christian’s house!”

David was stunned for a moment and was uncomfortable in his heart. But he still looked at Sarah and smiled, “Then

let’s go!”

“En…”

The car drove for a distance, and the two of them did not speak. In the end, it was David, who first broke the

silence, “Sarah, how is Christian’s personality? Even if he had no hope now, he still wanted to know what kind

person she married with!

“He is quite good…” Sarah said with a faint smile. Although her words were insincere, she did not want others to

worry about her.

“Really? You bought so many thing, why did not he come to pick you up?” Her words had not any creditability at all.

David did not believe what she said.

“He is Regimental Commander. He was injured half a year ago. He is now sitting in a wheelchair, so he can’t pick

me up…” Sarah said slowly.

“Squeak!” The BMW stopped on the road with a squeak.

David looked at her with disbelief, “He is sitting in a wheelchair. Is it temporary or…” He didn’t dare to continue.

Sarah looked at him and smiled to comfort him, “Don’t worry! He will stand up.”

“Then what about your wedding?”

“His leg is still injured. I think he’s going to have a wedding in the wheelchair.” Sarah looked at his worried

expression, and smiled, “You don’t need to worry, he is really fine.”

She could not want anything to go wrong with her and Christian’s wedding. If something went wrong it would not be

good for either of them.

“Sarah…” David did not know what to say for a moment.

“Don’t worry! He is really fine!” Sarah once again gave a comforting smile.

David turned his head and looked out of the window. He let out a heavy breath and gloomily started the car again.

The car crosses a few streets in the city and finally stopped in front of a high-end apartment. David took all the

things out of the car. He ignored Sarah insistence and helped them carry into the apartment. He watched the

elevator slowly close and left with relief.

The elevator slowly rose. Sarah leaned against the elevator wall, feeling mixed feelings in her heart. But there are

some roads, once you choose, you must persist. Not for anything else, but for her parents and the last bit of dignity

in her nine years to love.

When the elevator door opened, Sarah saw Jayson standing at the entrance. She smiled in surprise, “Do you have

telepathy? How did you know I was here?”

Jayson grinned and took the things out of the elevator. “Regimental Commander told me. He told me to wait for you

here. I didn’t expect you to be here!”

Sarah did not take to heart. She carried some things and went into the living room of the apartment with Jayson.

When she walked in, she saw Christian sitting in the wheelchair and looking at her quietly. She looked at him and

smiled at her.

He silently looked at her. He looked at the things she and Jayson brought and slowly said, “You don’t have to buy so

many things in the future.”

“Okay! Got it!” Sarah nodded and put all the things in the kitchen. The she walked into the living room and sat on

the sofa.

“Who was the man just now?”

Christian asked coldly and observed her expression.

“What man? Which man?” Sarah pretended to be dumb and asked him. This apartment was so tall and he was still

sitting in the wheelchair, it was impossible for him to see David, right?

She knew he was petty. So it was better for her not to say anything, as to avoid friction again.

“The man who sent you just now, he was downstairs just now!” Christian still asked her expressionlessly.

“Aren’t you sitting in a wheelchair? Can you see so clearly?” Sarah was really puzzled. The balcony was so tall, how

could a person sitting in the wheelchair see clearly what was happening downstairs?

“The balcony here is hollow!” Christian reminded her again expressionlessly.

Sarah immediately turned her head and saw that the part of the balcony was hollow and decorated with glass.

Sigh!

It seemed that he really saw what happened just now. Sarah’s face turned red guiltily. She turned to look at him and

explained, “That’s my brother. He saw I bought so many things, so he sent me over!”

“When did you have a brother? Why didn’t I know?” Christian looked at her doubtfully. Although he was not familiar

with her, he still knew the situation of her family.

“He is my neighbor. He saw me at the entrance of the supermarket, that’s why he sent me here!”

“He also lives in your neighborhood?”

“No! In the past, when we used to live in a flat, we were neighbors. Later, we were no longer in the same place!”

“Since you call him brother, it looks like you guys have a good relationship. What does he do?” Christian seemed to

be very interested in this topic and kept asking.

Sarah did not want to continue this topic, but when she heard him ask her, she could not help but answer, “He runs

a restaurant!” After that, she stood up from the sofa and walked towards the kitchen, “What do you want to eat? I

will make for you.”

“Since he runs a restaurant, let’s go to his place for lunch today!” Christian slowly suggested behind her.

Sarah suddenly stopped and turned back. She rejected him directly, “No!”

Christian’s face pulled a funny smile as he looked at her and asked, “Isn’t he your brother? Why not?”

Sarah’s mouth twitched and did not know how to answer for a moment. She could only look at him and say directly,

“I don’t like owing others!”

“It’s not like we are eating for free. Furthermore every will definitely meet in the future. Isn’t it good to get to know

each other?” Christian did not know what happened to him today. He did not wait for Sarah to speak and turned his

wheelchair and looked at Jayson, who was beside him, and ordered, “Jayson, let’s go out and eat there! Get ready!”

Jayson immediately nodded. “Yes! Regimental Commander!”

Sarah looked at him speechlessly. She really did not understand what he was going to do. She really did not want

him to appear in front of David, but she did not know how to convince him. She could only stare at his back and

keep silent.

Christian seemed to have felt her gaze, and he turned his head to look at her. His expression eased a little.

“Although I was not very familiar with you in the past, I still know a little about your family’s situation. I just thought

it’s you and your mother… I didn’t expect there would be another neighbor, Big Brother. I didn’t mean anything

else. I just wanted to have more contact with the people around you!”

Sarah looked at Jayson, who just walked out of the house. She looked at him and said bluntly, “We are just a

nameless couple! Is it useful for you to know so much?”

Usually, Christian would get angry with such words. But, he seemed to be in a good mood today. Sarah’s words did

not ruin his mood at all. He looked at Sarah and continue to ask slowly, “Isn’t he just an ordinary neighbor? Why do

you mind me seeing him? Is there any other relationship between you two other than neighbors?”

are so curious then go!”

“Then you should give him a call first. Otherwise, it would be impolite!”

Sarah looked at him and felt that she should make a call first. She took out her phone from her bag and found

David’s number. She hesitated for a moment.

Even if it was connected what would she say? She wanted to take her husband to his restaurant to eat?

Recalling what he had said to her, she really couldn’t bear to do that!

She turned around and wanted to say a few gentle words to Christian, but there was no one behind her. He

returned to his room.

Sarah sighed lightly. Even if she escaped today, the two of them would inevitably meet in the future. She made up

her mind and pressed the call button.

“Sarah! Is something matter?” David answered her phone as he drove.

“Mr. David, I want to take a friend to your restaurant for lunch this afternoon.” Sarah spoke with some difficulty.

“Okay! If you bring you friend and eat, I will welcome you with both my hands!” David heard her words and

immediately replied with a smile.

“Thank you, Mr. David.”
