Chapter 2362

The beast army went on a frenzied massacre in the city.

In just a day, they ruthlessly slaughtered 3,000,000 people.

Meanwhile, James fought fiercely the entire day. He faced thousands of beasts on his own and they all

died at his hands.

“James, Lanbergh City has fallen, and millions of humans were heartlessly killed.”

The Elephant King threatened, “Masked Warrior, the humans in Lanbergh City died because of you. It’s not too late

to surrender now. If you don’t, more of earth’s humans will die because of your hubris.”

“Let’s surrender, James.”

Henry watched the deaths of countless humans through satellite footage in the military region. He shed tears as he

looked at the streets of Lanbergh City stained with blood and corpses heaped into rotting piles everywhere.

“The beasts are too strong. Humans are still too weak. Not everyone can fight against them like you. If you continue

to battle, the entire Southwest Province might really collapse, and you’ll have to shoulder the deaths of

innumerable people.”

The Blithe King also advised him, “James, I agree we should surrender. We should at least do our best to keep the

remaining humans alive.”

Hearing the pleas coming from his transceiver, James’ eyes began to fill with tears.

“Surrender? Is that truly our only option?”

“Argh!!! Why has it come to this?!”

James lamented loudly.

His shout contained his feelings of helplessness and his unwillingness to simply give up.

“Stop the massacre, Elephant King. I surrender.”

With the fall of Lanbergh City, James relented to the beasts.

“Excellent choice. You’re quite sensible, Masked Warrior. I only want to occupy the Southwest Province. I don’t want

to slaughter needlessly, either. I shall now take over the Southwest Province. From today onward, all the humans in

this area will bow to me.”

James clenched his fists tightly as he heard the Elephant King’s bold proclamation.

Although the humans would be enslaved, they could at least survive for now.

The whole world watched the outcome battle.

Humans worldwide were watching James in his Masked Warrior appearance. Although he surrendered and

consigned hundreds of millions of humans to the fate of slavery, no one blamed him.

He stood up to fight back for humanity in such desperate times and as such, was already considered humanity’s

hero.

They did not condemnn him and understood there was nothing he could do since these beasts had such

overwhelming strength.

After surrendering, James turned off the live broadcast.

He stood on top of the pile of the beast corpses and began to cry.

He wept in sadness and frustration.

Throughout the years, he had not shed a tear. No matter how badly injured or how much he was suffering, he was

never reduced to tears. However, right then, he could not help but lament miserably.

He was powerless while humanity faced a catastrophe.

“No, James. You can’t give up yet!

“You still have other things you could use.

“I still have the four hundred thousand soldiers. If I deploy them, I can surely defeat the Elephant King. Even if I

have to sacrifice these soldiers, I must win the battle.”

James’ mind spun in circles.

Two voices argued with each other in his mind, constantly agonizing over whether to fight to the end or to

compromise.

James was troubled and unsure of what to do.

“What should I do, Ms. Sophie?”

James forlornly turned to Sophie in the Celestial Abode.

Sophie’s voice came from the Celestial Abode. “The calamity has only just begun, James. Humans being enslaved

by non-human races is inevitable. There’s nothing you or anyone else can do to change it.”

“What should I do then? Should I fight until the bitter end?”

The tears in James’ eyes had not yet dried.

Sophie fell silent.

After a few seconds, she said, “I don’t know either. It’s up to you. If you want to fight to the end, then do it. If you

want to give up, that’s fine too. You can save your strength to deal with the next, larger crisis.”
