slapping Kate across the face. The sound of the slap echoed around, leaving a red mark that quickly had her
crying, her earlier bravado completely wiped away. "Make the call!" Trembling, Kate grabbed her phone, glaring
atas she dialed. "This is all your fault, Claire. | wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for you!"
But my phone rang just as she was about to call her brother. One of the thugs read the caller ID out loud,
"Claude. It looks like someone's getting desperate." After answering, we heard Claude say, "I'm here."
