Sebastian cleaned up the blood on Trevor’s forehead, only to find a long cut.

After seeing that, Sebastian felt distressed. “I’ll stop the bleeding, but you’d better visit the hospital to

have it looked at. You might need a few stitches.”

However, Trevor said calmly, “There’s no need. Just stop the bleeding.”

Sebastian was still worried, so he muttered, “What if there is a scar?”

“It doesn’t matter.”

Christopher glanced at Trevor’s weary expression, and he couldn’t help but persuade, “You should go

to the hospital.”

Trevor was unmoved, so Christopher glanced at him and said, “You look like a zombie.”

Trevor stayed silent. I’m not. I am just in a bad mood because Arianna has angered me. Also, Mom is

being unreasonable. On top of it, Emma is ignoring me. How can I be in a good mood?

He lowered his eyes and lightly said to Christopher, “I wanted to talk to Emma earlier. However, this

happened.”

“Ouch…” Christopher mourned while clutching his chest. My sad grandson! He finally figured out what

love is after 30 years, but he is stuck now. After that thought, he comforted Trevor, “You just got

dumped. It’s alright; time will heal everything. Maybe you are not fated to be together. Just forget about

her. After this case, I will find a good girl for you.”

Trevor looked at Christopher, feeling utterly speechless. I’m already being this sad, yet Grandpa is still

saying those nasty things.

As such, Trevor retorted, “I won’t give up. The word is not even in my vocabulary!”

Hearing that, Christopher was secretly happy. He deliberately provoked Trevor because he didn’t want

his grandson to give up yet.

“By the way, how is Emma?” Christopher changed the subject.

Trevor’s gaze flashed with sadness. “Fine.”

Christopher’s heart ached as he murmured, “Oh, the poor girl. Steven and Simon are not her birth

family. She is alone; I wonder who she can talk to after this incident.”

“You’re overthinking things. She has a boyfriend and a best friend.” When Trevor said these words,

there was jealousy in his tone.

Hearing that, Christopher glanced at Trevor and said, “That’s true; she has a boyfriend.”

Meanwhile, Sebastian treated Trevor’s wound. He stopped the bleeding and wrapped a piece of gauze

on Trevor’s forehead. At that point, Trevor simply got up and said goodbye, unwilling to talk about

Emma’s boyfriend.

When Trevor went over to the door, Christopher comforted him from the foyer, “Now that your

relationship with her is getting worse, there is no hurry. You can still be her friend. Show your hospitality

to her. She loved you in the past, so she will still do the same one day.”

It was rare for Christopher to talk to Trevor in such a serious manner. When the elderly man was

serious, he could actually do a good job.

Trevor understood Christopher’s intentions. Hence, he nodded, thereafter turning around and leaving.

He had to admit Christopher’s words relieved his anxiety. That’s right. Since we are now at this point,

it’s better to be a friend to Emma.

As soon as Trevor left Christopher’s house, Trevor received a call from Raymond. Raymond then said

in distress, “Alice called me earlier and wants me to defend Arianna.”

Alice knew that the most famous lawyer in Jonestown was Raymond Washington.

Then, he continued, “Of course I refused. I told her I have a full schedule for a few months and will be

abroad for a long time to handle foreign cases.”

While driving, Trevor muttered, “Okay.”

Raymond then reported, “Also, I just called Emma. As I expected, she refused my help.”

“I see.” Truth was, Trevor knew Emma would not accept it.

Hearing that, Raymond worriedly said down the line, “I can tell from her tone of voice that she doesn’t

seem in a good state. Should we find a counselor for her?”

It was no small matter to be kidnapped and treated the way she was.

Although Emma was rescued, it was a huge physical and psychological blow to a person after being

tied up in the warehouse. Endless panic and despair would crush a person, especially a kind girl like

her.

Although Raymond and his friends did not like Emma as she had used underhand tactics to sleep with

Trevor, they had to admit the woman did a perfect job as Trevor’s wife during their three years of

marriage.

Emma quietly and sensibly stayed by Trevor’s side and cared for him. Moreover, she did not fight or

quarrel. Hence, Raymond and his company’s attitude toward her had silently changed to the point

where they even cared about her now.

“Sure.” Raymond’s words made Trevor’s heart sink.

During Trevor’s visit to the hospital in the past, the doctor also said they should pay attention to

Emma’s mental health.

However, Emma would surely decline Trevor’s help.

Before he could think of a way to get her to a counseling session, she was involved in an incident.

In the evening, Trevor and Zachary had dinner together.

To avoid any suspicion, Raymond took his wife abroad in the afternoon, so Alice would not trouble him

anymore.

Meanwhile, Kaleb phoned Trevor. “Emma came to our hospital with a high fever. It could have been

caused by the incident during the day.”

“What?!” Trevor immediately stood up from his seat. He took his car keys, preparing to rush out.

However, Kaleb stopped him over the line. “You don’t have to come here. It was Wesley who sent her

here. He must know what happened to her, so he rushed here. He said Emma only answered the door

after he had been waiting there for ages. At that time, she had a high fever.”

Trevor held his cell phone tightly, unable to say a word. He knew Emma was in bad condition, but he

didn’t expect it to be so severe.

After hanging up, Trevor still held his keys and planned to leave in an instant.

However, Zachary stopped Trevor. “Kaleb said Emma’s boyfriend is there.”

The ex-husband would surely be embarrassed if he met the boyfriend.

“So? Is it illegal to visit someone who has a boyfriend?” Trevor said those words to Zachary before

leaving.

On the other end, Emma had been sent to the ward and received a drip to reduce her fever.

Wesley was standing guard beside her, his expression filled with distress. When he saw Trevor come

in, the usually gentle and elegant Wesley was suddenly mad. And so, Wesley stepped forward and

punched Trevor without a second thought.
