Chapter 672

For some reason, she felt a dull pain in her heart when she heard those words from him.

After hearing Serenity’s explanation about the connection between Lucas Gomez and Lynette Blossom, Lisa’s jaw

dropped, and she mumbled, “That’s just way too dramatic!”

Who would have thought that the real woman that the Prince of the Entertainment Industry, who had been

changing from one girlfriend to another for ages now, had been looking for was actually her best friend’s cousin?!

“Then why did he grab your arm in the boutique just now?” Lisa asked.

Serenity considered it and replied, “I asked him a question, but it looked like… I must’ve touched a sore nerve or

something.”

What truly made her wonder was why her cousin would say that she was the one who had told her about Lucas’s

nickname, because she had absolutely no memory of Lynette telling her about saving a boy before, much less

mentioning the nickname

Luke to her.

But she had no time to ask Lynette about it before they left.

“By the way.” Lisa said, her imagination running wild with curiosity, “Lucas once mistook you for the girl who saved

his life, didn’t he? Say, what if you really were that girl? Who would you choose, then? Jackson Valor or Lucas

Gomez?”

Lisa’s words once again reminded her of those dreams, but this time, she silently reminded herself that dreams

were just that -nothing but dreams. They were completely separate from reality, and the reality was that Lynette

was the one who had

saved Lucas.

“I’m sure I’ll never have to concern myself with a question like that,” Serenity replied, “but in any case, no matter

what happens, Jack will always be the man I choose.”

Touched by the answer, Lisa commented, “Looks like you really love Jackson, huh?”

She had been really concerned about her friend’s chances of finding love ever since she was released from prison.

After all, this society had never been kind to women, especially women who had been in prison before.

Luckily, though, Serenity had met Jackson, and they were even planning to get married now! When Lisa thought

about it, she realized that Serenity’s life was no less dramatic than how Lynette had met Lucas!

“Yeah,” Serenity responded softly

Even though she used to be terrified of him, she was now absolutely certain that she did, in fact, love him!

Later that night, she told Jackson, “I’m thinking of postponing the wedding for a year. Are you okay with that?”

“Because you’re in inourning for your grandma?” he asked. He could more or less guess her reason even if she

never explicitly

talked to him about it.

“Yeah,” she nodded. She then studied his face and asked, “So. Are you okay with it?

Marriage was a matter between two people, after all, so she hoped that he would agree with her decision.

“What if I say no?” he softly asked her. “What will you do, then?”

She was startled. Her clear almond–shaped eyes seemed somewhat at a loss. For a moment, she had no idea what

to say to him.

His eyelashes drooped slightly, partially covering his dark eyes.

“We’ll just do as you say, then,” he told her. “We’ll get married a year from now, okay?”

He only had to wall one year, and she would finally become Mrs. Valor, and then she would forever be bound to him

by a marriage certificate, right?

He was so eager to make her completely his, yet it seemed that she cares much more about her grandina than

their marriage. He wanted to truly occupy a special place in her heart, and he wished for her to focus her attention

on no one else but him.

And these desires of his only became more and more urgent as time passed.

“But I’ll only endure it for a year,” he declared, “Exactly one year from now, you’re not allowed to postpone our

wedding anymore no matter what happens.”
