Chapter 475
I felt like this man would never allow
anyone to say a single bad word about Serenity.
Envy and jealousy simmered in Lynette’s heart. How had someone like Serenity managed to get such a
handsome boyfriend who did not mind that she used to be in prison at all, while she herself, who had
gotten married when she was young, had only managed to nab a blacksmith?!
Back then, she used to think that marrying a blacksmith was not that bad at all since at the very least, a
blacksmith would always have a stable job. Besides, The dowry gifts she had gotten from him were
more than generous. But as time went by, she had begun to regret this choice more and more
All her trends she used to be close with when she was younger now lived much better lives than her in
the city. In fact, most of them had even married men who were white–collar workers, civil servants, and
company managers–all soccding so impressive that she began to be embarrassed to admit that her
husband was only a blacksmith.
Over the past few years, she had often wondered, had she not married so early, then perhaps, she

collar worker!
“Oh,” Aur: Theresa suddenly interjected, “so hrs your boyfriend, huh?”
She then added in a grave tone as if she was giving Serenity a warning, “You should cherish him
properly this time, Serenity Back then when you were with that rich and powerful man, you must have
realized by now that he was only interested in you because you were new and exciting to him. When
the ty wore off, he post dumped you and left.”
Jackson raised his brows and turned to Serenity, asking her, “Rich and powerful man? Who is she
talking about?
Serenity was speechless because she could guess that Aunt Theresa was referring to Jackson himself.
After all, he had very boldly rushed to this small town to save her in front of everyone back then.
However, Aunt Theresa had not been there back then as only her uncles were at Felix Faster’s house,
so she had never met Jackson before.
Unsurprisingly, Serenity then heard her aur: put on a kind face and start to explain, “Here’s what
happened–when Serenity was staying here, a rich and powerful man brought so many people here to
take Serenity with him. And they were all driving expensive cars too! At the time, I was worried about
her because men like that are never honest and he most Exely didn’t truly love her but only wanted to
seduce her. I was afraid that she might fall into his trap, but she’s lucky because she’s got a boyfriend
like you now.”
Serenity Found it very amusing how predictably shameless her aunt and cousin could be! They always
tried to bring up unflattering things about her like this, but unfortunately for Aunt Theresa this time, she
had no idea that the rich and powerful man she was talking about was right here in front of her!
“Really?” Jackson replied in a flat vuice. “Then 1 have to thank you for your concern for Serenity.”
He then wrapped his arm around Serenity’s smidler, inched closer to her face, and playfully asked her,
“Su, did you fall into his trap?”
Serenity could not help but glare at him. He clearly lew that Aunt Theresa was talldag about him, yet he
still asked her that question. Besides, did he not realize how intimate they were acting with each other
right now in front of her am and cousin?
“Stop fooling around,” she muttered.
“I’m not fooling around,” he murmured. “I’m being very serious.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSerenity blushed deeply and only managed to reply in a soft voice, “I’ll tell you when we get home.”
“Okay,” Jackson smiled, “we’ll talk about it when we get lane.”
He looked at her with eyes dripping with tenderness and aluting affection, the complete opposite of the
ice–cold lauks he had given Theresa and Lynette earlier.
Seeing this, not only Lynette, but even Theresa, who was already a milille–aged woman, was green
with envy when she saw 2/2
how Jackson interacted with Serenity. But all she could do was silently curse at their shamelessness in
her heart.
As for Lynette, her already existing jealousy now gira more and more intense. Did this man really not
care about Serenity’s unsavory past at all? Or was it because be cared about Serenity so much that he
was willing to overlook her past?
“So, can I call you Jack as well?” Lynette took the intiative to speak to Jackson before introducing
herself, “I’m Serenity’s cousin. You can call me Lynette ”
“No,” Jackson replied. “You can call me Mr. Jack”
As for what he would call her, since he never intended to speak to her much, he did not even bother to
respond to the latter half of her sentence at all.
