“Is he a friend? We must thank him! Shall I get him a gift of appreciation later? Could you help deliver it
to him?” Clara asked hurriedly.
“No need,” Serenity said and quickly changed the subject, moving on to enquire about Yanny’s
cochlear implants.
“Vanny’s medical report will be out in a couple of days. If there’s no problem, he’ll proceed with the
cochlear implant surgery. “Clara could not hide the joy on her face. “I’ve spoken to the hospital, and
they said that I could apply for a partial for waiver to ease my financial situation.”

Serenity thought it was over, but she did not expect Clara to ask her about it later. In the evening, she
returned to the restaurant after her deliveries, and Clara pulled her in as she asked, “Was it Lucas who
helped us with the incident today?”
Serenity was stunned by her question. She looked at Clara in a daze, wondering how she knew about
this.
Seeing Serenity’s expression, Clara knew it was true. “A customer dining in earlier saw a video of the
scene and showed me. Someone had recorded the dispute, the group arguing with you, and Lucas‘
appearance later.” Clara explained and looked at Serenity with more doubt in her eyes.
Clara had had her doubts when Lucas had first come to the restaurant and waited for Serenity. Seeing
the latest video with Lucas crouching on the floor to help Serenity with her shoelace shocked her even
more.
Lucas seemed very aloof in Clara’s impression. Lucas constantly changed girlfriends, and his dating
history was further evidence of his heartlessness.
Lucas seemed to pamper each of his girlfriends and dote on them, but he only provided for them in
terms of money or

Clara had seen Lucas with one of his ex–girlfriends before. The way he looked at her seemed devoid of
emotion–like he was just looking at a toy that interested him rather than a person.
The latest video was different. Clara could see how Lucas looked at Serenity full of emotions in his

“Yeah, I’ll show you.” Clara took out her phone and searched for the video again. However, she found
nothing on the internet. The web page also indicated that the content she had searched for did not
exist.
“How did this happen?” Clara frowned
Serenity reached for her phone. She did the same and searched for the video with some relevant
keywords but could not find any videos of her and Lucas.
Serenity pursed her lips tightly, Clara had seen the video earlier, but the video had suddenly
disappeared. Some unknown power must have intervened and removed all the relevant content from
