Chapter 399
“By the way, you have Saturday afternoon off, right?” Jackson looked at Serenity’s flushed face and
found it amusing.
“Yes. What’s up?” she asked.
“Clear your schedule for the afternoon. I’ll take you to the hospital for a full–body checkup,” Jackson
said.
“A checkup?” Serenity was a bit surprised.

Jackson replied.
She bit her lip and nodded. “Alright then.”
Jackson was right. When she worked at the law firm, they would arrange for checkups, but it had been

Serenity decided to be honest and said, “W–we just started dating, s- so it’s better to…‘
A soft laugh escaped Jackson’s mouth. “Don’t worry. I won’t do anything.”
As he spoke, he leaned closer, bringing his face closer to hers.
Serenity’s face turned even redder. She wanted to say something, but her voice seemed stuck in her
throat.
He gently stroked her cheek with his fingers. “I just want to be by your side!”
He paused, his lips hovering near her ear, and he exdaled softly, “Because to me, being by your side is
wonderful.”
Serenity felt her heart suddenly beat wildly in her chest.
“Sis, is it okay? I want to be as close as we used to be. Besides, we’re already a couple now, aren’t
we?” Jackson whispered, his voire carrying a hint of pleading and impishness.
