Chapter 362
“I’ll always listen to you. So, will you like me?” Jackson said. Despite that, Serenity felt a slight
hesitation in her heart.
‘If only… If he was not Jackson Valor, maybe. Serenity thought she would have liked him better if he
was just Jack
However, he was the man himself—Jackson Valor had been a nightmare to Serenity during her last
three years in prison, the man she feared from the bottom of her heart!

Serenity could not figure out her relationship with Jackson anymore. She was supposed to fear him, be
afraid of him, but sometimes, she could not resist caring about him.
Serenity felt torn and confused when he said such heart–stopping words and looked at her so

attracted to him too?
Serenity could only take one step at a time while doing things. She felt as though she was trapped in a
swamp. She wanted to leave but found herself sinking deeper into the abyss.
Serenity finished another round of deliveries and returned to the restaurant. However, she was stunned
to see an unexpected guest waiting in the restaurant. A man was sitting in the restaurant, someone
whom she would never expect to see here-
Lucas Gomez.
Lucas wore a full–business suit, his handsome face showing an elegantly aloof look. A man like him
could be hanging around in a luxurious banquet, a small and chic restaurant, or in the cozy balcony of
the presidential suite, but definitely not in a small and cheap restaurant like this.
Serenity did not see Clare around. Mrs. Wells was stationed at the cashier instead.
Lucas obviously spotted Serenity’s arrival. He then rose to his feet and walked toward her. “I didn’t
think you really worked here.”
“How did you know? Serenity asked, puzzled.
“I saw you riding an electric bike on the road yesterday. The delivery box on the back of your bike had
the words Hot Restaurant on it. I happened to pass by here, so I came in,” Lucas explained, a trace of
unnoticeable tenderness on his face.
‘Serenity, here are three more orders. Please go and deliver them,” Mrs. Wells called out to Serenity.
“Okay.” Serenity went to the cashier and picked up the take–out that was already ready and packed on
the counter.
Mrs. Wells took the chance and asked Serenity in a soft whisper, “Your friend?”
Serenity shook her head. “I just happen to know him.” She did not consider Lucas as a friend. After all,
the prince of the entertainment industry, Lucas Gomez, was way out of her league.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSerenity still found the whole situation a little odd. Even if Lucas had happened to see the restaurant’s
name on her delivery box and passed by the restaurant, there was no need for him to come in for a
meal.
Could it be… Was he deliberately waiting for her? Serenity had this thought but immediately erased it
when it popped into her mind.
Just as Serenity was about to leave the store with the take–out, Lucas suddenly asked, “Are you going
to deliver food?”
“Yeah. I’m in charge of the delivery,” Serenity answered.
“Did Jackson really let you do this kind of work?”
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with working like this,” Serenity sakl humbly, “I’m making money
with my own hard work, and I’m happy with it.”
As she said that, she walked to the electric bike parked outside the restaurant and put the take–out on
the bike.
