Chapter 353
Lisa looked like a hungry little pig
As Terry was unfamiliar with the restaurants in the area, Lisa gladly took him to one of her favorite
restaurants.
“They have some special dishes here. You won’t find them in any other place.” Once they got a seat in
the restaurant, Lisa took the menu and ordered with great enthusiasm.
While ordering, she passionately introduced the best dishes served in the restaurant. Halfway through,
she found Terry looking at her with a deep gaze.
“Ah, sorry. I’ve spoken too much,” Lisa said.
“Don’t worry about it. Carry on. I’m listening,” Terry said flatly.

blurted out, “So, what brings you here today?” She wished she had bitten her tongue the moment she
said that
It had been so hard for them to get past the topic of her blind date earlier. Why had she led the
conversation back to the topic?! Sure enough, Terry Inoked up at her and said, “If I hadn’t come, would
you have gone on a dinner date with that man today?”
“What…” Lisa choked and turned red. “No way.”
Lisa’s answer felt a little weak. After all, her original plan had been to treat her blind date to a meal as
an apology. She had most definitely dodged a bullet by not inviting Godfrey to dinner. Lisa regretted not
beating Godfrey up when she remembered some of the rude remarks he had made at the end of their
meeting.
“When yo
your parents introduced you to a blind date, did they have any requirements for the man?” Terry asked
casually.
“Just the usual requirements–someone with a house, a stable job, and someone tall,” Lisa said. In
truth, she did not really care about owning property before marriage. For her, she could make do with
renting a place. Besides, a couple could simply raise money to co–own a house after marriage.
By her mother’s logic, Lisa could find a good man with housing at her current age, but she would
struggle if she waited any longer.
Lisa felt speechless about her mother’s thinking. She had never treated her age as a problem. She
believed she could still reap the love she wanted even if she had a late marriage.
As soon as she had said that, her mother had directly countered her argument, “Yeah, but only if you

Sure enough, that was her mother’s approach to tough love. “Well, at least I have a university degree.
It’s not like I don’t have
Lisa could not help but justify her education.
“Everyone has a degree nowadays. If a billiard falls on the street, it’ll easily crash into multiple people
with a degree. What’s the use of your degree? Back then, you could have gone abroad to further your
studies, but no. You wouldn’t be a mere associate designer if not for Serenity.”
Whenever they talked about her education, her mother would always talk about Serenity. However,
Lisa had no regrets. Serenity was alone, devastated, and helpless because of the case. If Lisa had not
returned quickly, no one would have been there for Serenity.
Unfortunately, Lisa could not help Serenity win the lawsuit. Ultimately, Serenity had spent three years in
jail.
Lisa felt heavy–hearted as she thought about this again.
“What’s on your mind?” An elegant male voice rang in her ears. Lisa snapped back to her senses,
realizing she had been a little distracted by Serenity’s case yet again.
