Chapter 252
Just like back then, when Zeke and Serenity were dating, Zeke would always help Serenity whenever
there was trouble.
Serenity had thought that she could rely on Zele for the rest of her life. Instead, he had not stood up for
her when she really needed his help. Only then had she realized that feelings were unreliable and
could be taken back at any time.
She had habitually relied on him, but he no longer helped. She had lost everything at that moment, and
the despair had almost killed her.
She had suffered in prison and was in so much despair, even driven to the brink of considering suicide
several times.
If Lisa hadn’t… Lisa had visited her often and encouraged her. She might not have survived without

When Serenity thought of her best friend, her heart was filled with deep gratitude.
Serenity let out a sigh and unbuttoned her costume, preparing to take it off when she heard footsteps
behind her.
Serenity was startled and turned to see Jackson walking into the changing room.
Everyone was filming outside, so no one else was in the changing room. “This is the female changing
room! Y-you. Get out!” Serenity exclaimed, her face slightly flushed.
Despite that, Jackson closed in on her. “What are you afraid of?”
“Afraid of?” She was stunned by his question and started retreating, one step at a time.
The more she retreated, the closer he got. He closed in until her back was up against the closet in the
changing room, and she ultimately had no room to escape.
Jackson grabbed her hands, pinning her against the closet door. “I’m helping you. Why are you afraid
of that?”
Jackson could not understand. Other women would be happy for his kind help, but she seemed to be
an exception.
Serenity subconsciously put her hands on Jackson’s chest, stopping him from advancing closer. “Go
out first. Someone might
come in.”
“No one will come in.” Jackson’s tone was unquestionable
“How are you so sure? She glared at him.
‘Because no one can come in,” Jackson explained, “My bodyguard is guarding the door. Do you think
anyone would dare to come in?”

Serenity was lost for words, unaware of the presence of his bodyguard. She had never noticed.
“Tell me. Why are you scared?” Jackson asked the same question again, his slender fingers brushing
aside tendrils of hair on
her cheeks
Serenity looked better than usual with makeup, but this makeup look did not suit her. He was so close
that he could smell the makeup fragrance.
Jackson preferred her usual naked face look and the natural, light fragrance of her body. She always
smelled good.
Her eyes were the same before and after makeup, Jackson found it cute, the way she was glaring at
him.
Serenity bit her lips slightly and lowered her gaze as she denied, “I’m not scared.”
Jackson cupped her chin gently, forcing her to look up at him. “I’m asking you why, not If you’re
scared.”
In other words, he was already sure that she was afraid.
Serenity’s heart trembled. Did he see through her fears?
His beautiful, drep eyes seemed to be seeing through all of her.
