Her phone suddenly rang. It was a call from her relative. As soon as she picked up, she was informed
that her grandma was in the hospital.
“Serenity, have you forgotten that your two uncles, your aunt, and your cousins are all still locked up in
jail? I heard from the police that they might end up in prison for many years! Aren’t you worried that
your grandma might have no one to be by her side at the end of her life?!”
The relative kept on blabbering to urge Serenity to go to the police and withdraw the case immediately
so that the police could release them all.
“So, even if you’re really worried about your grandma,” her relative added, “You should release them
all! After all, we’re family, no matter what. You shouldn’t have gone too far!”
Serenity found it funny how her relative was accusing her of going too far, yet what her uncles and the

After hanging up the phone, Serenity hailed a cab and told the driver she would like to go to the small

“I know,” she said. “Just take me there.”
