Chapter 119
Her tears always made him feel strangely helpless, almost as if he could do everything for her just to
make the tears stop. flowing from her eyes.
Serenity suddenly sobbed and threw herself into Jackson’s arms before letting it all out and crying even
harder than before.
Even she was unsure why she would do such a thing at the time. She just felt that as she hugged him
and leaned her face against his chest, she no longer had to suppress any of her feelings and that she
could express all the pain she had suffered without needing to hold anything back.
Jackson lowered his head and looked at the woman who was crying in his arms. He held her gently
and let her cry her heart out.
Serenity had no idea how long she cried, but in the end, she gradually stopped and found that she

Jackson took a tissue and gently wiped away the tears that had not yet dried up on her face.
“Can you tell me what happened now, Sis?”
“It’s Grandma,” she replied, sniffling
“Did she ask you to sweep the matter under the rug?” Jackson asked, his eyes darkening slightly.
“No,” Serenity answered, her voice still nasally after crying. “She just asked if I was okay and told me
not to bother with my uncles and the rest of them. She said they should be locked up for as long as
they deserve.”
This surprised Jackson.
“This Grandma of yours isn’t bad at all.”
“She has always treated me very kindly,” murmured Serenity. Still, she never knew that Grandma’s
kindness for her would run so deep to the point where she was willing to stand against the whole family
and become their enemy for her sake and in the name of justice for her.
“What about you?” Jackson asked. “Do you intend to let your relatives go?
Serenity looked up and stared intently at the man in front of her.
“If you want to let them go,” he continued, “I can just tell the police to release them, but if you want
them to be severely punished, I’ll find a lawyer that can make sure they never see the light of day again
for the rest of their lives.”
He spoke in a very calm manner as if all those things were a simple matter to him
Serenity was bewildered. She had studied law before, so she definitely knew the same case could
result in dramatically different charges with tiny changes in the circumstances. Still, no ordinary lawyer
was capable of handling such a lawsuit to ensure this outcome. If they really wanted to make sure that
her relatives stayed in prison for the rest of their lives, they would have to hire one of the very few top

“Who on earth are you really?” she asked. As those words came out of her mouth, she could feel her
heart thumping in her chest. She even held her breath without realizing it.
His long eyelashes trembled slightly, and he looked down at her tightly clenched fists and frowned
before reaching out to take her right hand, which was wrapped in bandages, and slowly unfurled her
lingers one by one.
“Don’t get too worked up, Sis. If you clench your fist like that, you’ll make it harder for the wound on
your hand to heal.”
As he spoke, he noticed that the gauze in the center of the palm of her hand was stained red with
blood. It appeared that the wound had opened again when she clenched her list.
Jackson quickly rang the bell for the nurse.
Moments later, a nurse came in When she learned what had happened, she quickly removed the
Isdages on Serenity’s right hand. As expected, the small cuts on the palm of her lands caused by the
mirror fragments were opzing with blood
