"Ezra... Ezra talk to me!" As soon as | feel my link to my beta kick in, | push on it with strong force.

"She's fine...

"What happened? | felt a surge through the mate bond.

"You felt that? Kaia rejected Than."

"Than? He's there?"

"Not for much longer. If he doesn't leave soon | think Beckett will serve him to the fish." Ezra chuckles through

the mind-link.

He might think Beckett is all talk and no action...but | don't. Something still didn't sit right with me, hiding

something and with both girls wrapped up in their admiration for him, Kaia more than Alora, it was hard to make

them question their own childhoods. Smajor information was missing from the most important event of their

lives, their births.

We abandon the cars we arrived to the Shadow Rock pack in, running across fields to the border instead..

As soon as we step over the Nightshade Reformed borders, guards start chasing after us. This would need to

Jude and | outrun the guards to the alpha house courtyard, where we find Than squaring up to Kaia. Pure fury

flooded throughas | enter the scene, his nose all but touching hers as he tries to overshadow her. |

immediately pull her back, standing in-between them both, baring my teeth in warning.

"I knew you wouldn't be far away...but judging by the guards you aren't as welcas you would like to think."

He scoffs at me, his eyes flashing to that of his wolf.

"You need to leave!" Kaia demands next to me, trying to pushback so that she can regain her position. This

wasn'tdoubting her ability to defend herself, I've seen her fight. This was me, not wanting her anywhere

near him.

"I'm not leaving without my mate! Without my Luna. You think | didn't feel her link to the Amber Desert pack

break, you don't think | would search high and low for her? Trust you to keep her hidden from me."

"Last chance boy....if you remain | will kill you." Beckett snarls out.

"Alora..." Than looks past my shoulder to Alora, his jaw tense.

"You need to leave!" She responds, her chest rising and falling too quickly.

"Alora!" Than desperately roars as Alora's breathing quickens and she collapses to the floor, Kaia catching her in

her arms.

"Alora!" Than roars as he pushes pastrushing towards Alora but | manage to tackle him to the ground,

before he reaches them, "You bastard...." He growls at me, pushing at my face before landinga punch to my

temple.

"Ezra, get her out of here." | order through the mind-link to my Beta.

We wrestle, pulling punches, Than trying to escape my grasp to get to Alora who was now being carried by Ezra

into the Alpha house "This way!" Freya tries to help but is pulled back by Than's beta Zane, leaving Beckett to

take Ezra inside with an unconscious Alora, "She's mine!" He roars at me.

"No....she's mine!" Kaia's voice comes up from behind.

"| won't let you ruin her like you did me!"

"Ruin you?"

"I was pregnant Than... the night your men chased me. The night I left...| was pregnant with your child..."

"What?" His hands slacken fromas her words sink in.

"After you forced yourself on me..." She hoarsely whispers.

"I heard you Than, | heard it leave your own lips. You are a monster and if she was strong enough | would let her

who would attack and kill with one word from Kaia.

As soon as he is out of sight | feel her breathing even and her back becless rigid. Her head tilting slightly to
