Chapter 375
Emmett sneered and strode into the mansion with a dark face.
Kathleen followed him and got out of the car. She saw Marilyn's car as well.
Idiot!
Those who had eyes could see it clearly that Emmett doted on Angela.
Marilyn, on the other hand, was so stupid. Yesterday, she brought Angela out and almost lost her. It
hadn’t been a day yet and she actually still dared to come to the Lawrence family again today.
Wasn't she trying to anger Emmett on purpose?
As soon as Emmett entered the door, a servant took the initiative to take his coat.
Without him needing to say anything, a maid took the initiative and said, "Young Miss and Miss Herbert
are in the kitchen together."
The maids at home all knew that the first thing Emmett did when he came back from work every day
was to see Angela.
Emmett nodded and went straight to the kitchen.
When he entered the kitchen, Marilyn was cutting fruits on the kitchen counter.
While she was cutting fruits, she was also talking to Angela.
"Eating more fruits will make you look prettier."
Angela sat on the kitchen counter, her two short legs swaying. It could not be seen if she was listening
to Marilyn. She reached out her chubby hand to grab a piece of watermelon and stuffed it into her
mouth.
She had just stuffed the watermelon into her mouth when she turned her head and saw Emmett.
"Empett!" Angela’s mouth was still filled with watermelon that she had not swallowed yet. Her voice
was a little unclear. She reached out her hands to Emmett from far away to ask for a hug.
Emmett walked closer and reached out to pick her up. He reached out to wipe the watermelon juice off
the corner of her mouth in disgust. He said with a rare helpless tone, "Call me daddy."
Angela called out very loudly, "Daddy!"
Every time he came back, Angela would follow him like this.

"Emmett."
Hearing this, Emmett raised his head and looked at Marilyn.
Marilyn put down the knife in her hand and looked at him with a gentle smile.
Unlike before, Emmett gave a meaningful smile and carried Angela out.
He was not as angry as Marilyn had expected. A hint of joy flashed in Marilyn's eyes.
Sure enough, she was right to use Angela as a breakthrough point.
It was better when Angela was young. She did not know how to talk or walk. She looked like an
ordinary child. But now, she looked more and more like Alyssa.
It was precisely because of this that Marilyn found Angela more and more annoying the more she
looked at her. She hated Angela very much.
So she had the thought of throwing Angela away in her heart.
About what happened yesterday, she only wanted to test how important Angela was to Emmett.
Angela was so important to Emmett that she could win Angela's favor first and then let Emmett accept
her.
When she got married with Emmett and got pregnant with Emmett's child. . .
As for Angela, she could think of a way to easily get rid of that child.
Marilyn felt that her plan was flawless.
Emmett carried Angela to the study room.
He put Angela on the desk and Angela twisted her small body to get the pen holder.
"Don't move!" Emmett said in a low voice, which made Angela withdraw her hand and raise her head to
look at him.
Emmett pulled a chair over.
When he sat down, his line of sight was exactly the same as Angela's. His expression was serious and
solemn. It was no different from when he usually talked about contracts.
"Do you like mom?"
Angela already vaguely knew what "like" meant.
She blinked her eyes and stared at Emmett for a few seconds, before she nodded with a serious face.
Her reaction was within Emmett's expectations.
He crossed his arms and leaned back. He changed his way and asked, "Mom or pretty sister, who do
you choose?"
Angela's eyes immediately lit up. She shrugged her shoulders and looked very shy. Her voice could not
hide her excitement. "Pretty sister!"
Her answer surprised Emmett.
Although Marilyn did not spend much time with Angela, she always came to see her. He did not expect
that Angela would choose Alyssa.
Emmett reached out his hand and carefully brushed the messy bangs on Angela's forehead. He asked
casually, "Pretty Sister or Daddy, who do you choose?"
Without any hesitation, Angela directly shouted loudly. "Daddy!"
Hearing this, Emmett lowered his eyes and saw Angela looking up at him with a sweet smile.
Emmett's heart suddenly softened. He suddenly thought of the scene when he encountered a
subordinate shopping with a child on the road not long ago.
He remembered that subordinate calling the child something.
It seemed to be little sweetheart?
Could his child be called Little Sweetheart?
Angela was the kind of person who was called Little Sweetheart.
Emmett exerted strength in his arms and reached out to hold Angela in his arms. He said in a
negotiable tone, "Then how about we go and be neighbors with pretty big sister?"
Angela hurriedly nodded. "Okay!"
Emmett smiled and pinched her cheek. "You don't even know what the neighbors mean."
After that, Emmett took Angela to her room to help her pack.
Halfway through the packing, Emmett suddenly stopped.
Why was he so familiar with this kind of thing? It was as if he had done this kind of thing before.
When he brought his luggage and led Angela downstairs, Kathleen was about to let Marilyn go upstairs
and call them to come down for dinner.
Marilyn saw the suitcase Emmett brought and her face froze. "What are you packing for? Where are

Emmett was about to speak when he lowered his head and looked at Angela as if he had thought of
something.
After that, he only gave Marilyn a cold glance and did not say anything. He carried Angela with one
hand and walked out with his suitcase in the other hand.
Marilyn's expression changed. She turned around and went to the dining room to look for Kathleen.
When Kathleen came out to chase him, Emmett had already carried Angela into the car and sat down.
Kathleen ran over and slapped the window hard. "Emmett, where are you going?"
Emmett lowered the window and said. "I want to go to a quiet place."
After saying that, he raised the car window and drove away, leaving Kathleen screaming like a
madman behind.
"Emmett! Emmett! Come back here!"
Kathleen was so angry that she almost had a headache. She turned around and entered the door and
instructed the bodyguard: "Go and chase him back!"
She could not let Emmett get out of her sight.
Once Emmett was out of her sight, she could not guarantee that something difficult to control would
happen.
He might remember what happened in the past, or he might believe what Xavier and the others said.
Marilyn did not expect Emmett to be so indifferent. She came forward to comfort Kathleen. "Kathleen,
don't be too anxious, Emmett..."
"Shut up!" Kathleen's expression was ugly as she said in a low voice, "It's all because of you! You
almost lost Angela yesterday. Emmett was already angry to begin with, but you still came to the
Lawrence family today!"
Marilyn's family background was not bad either. Since she was young, she had been surrounded by
people who tried to curry favor with her. It could be said that she had grown up with any difficulty.
Other than being humiliated by Emmett, nobody dared to talk to her in such a tone before.
She held back her anger and said, "Didn't I want Emmett to accept me earlier? I have been waiting for
three years! How many years can a woman spend to wait for a man? I am already thirty years old!"
