Chapter 507
Right then, Daphne completed her performance onstage.
Marietta nodded shallowly, obviously not quite pleased with Daphne’s performance.
Indeed, that was what she thought.
Since Daphne had been internally decided to get the role, this made Marietta sure that Daphne couldn’t act at all.
She didn’t expect that Daphne could actually act. Although she wasn’t that good, she was still better than some
others.
But when Marietta looked at Daphne’s face…
Marietta held back her myriad dissatisfactions. In any case, there were many flaws in this script. She was
determined to write something new later on. She would consider this work not to be her
own.
With that thought, Marietta could accept Daphne.
Seeing Marietta nodding, a look of joy lit up in Daphne’s eyes. She bowed before leaving the stage.
Sonia was next to perform.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCaroline looked up and focused all her attention on the stage. She ignored Kirk.
Kirk had no choice but to follow her line of sight and look toward the stage as well.
Sonia slowly walked onstage.
The instant the lights shone on Sonia’s face, Marietta’s eyebrows rose. Sonia carried herself with
strength yet fragility. It was the exact way she had imagined Grace to be.
Sonia had chosen to act out the scene of Grace’s first meeting with her mother. Then, they got into
an argument.
However, Marietta noticed something amiss as Sonia carried out her performance.
Sonia was handling this scene in a completely different way from Daphne.
The way Daphne played Grace, she had been full of rage when she met her birth mother. Their

However, Sonia’s portrayal of Grace wasn’t so simple and roughshod when handling this scene.
There were many layers to it.
At the beginning, she was filled with righteous resentment. Her emotions became complicated
after finding out that her mother hadn’t intentionally dumped her at the orphanage.
Instead, it was her father’s neglect that had caused her to be kidnapped.
No longer was she simply hateful. She was torn between the love and hate she felt.
It was only when her mother brought out Grace’s old toys and clothes that the emotions she had
been suppressing burst forth. She cried.
According to the original script, Grace was still supposed to be filled with fury at this point.
She blamed her mother for playing the caring card. Since she had lost Grace in the past, she
shouldn’t have shown up again when Grace was beginning anew.
Daphne had followed the script when acting.
But Sonia hadn’t. She had followed Caroline’s edited script.
When she saw her mother bring out her old toys and clothes, Sonia said the same lines as she
trembled, but her voice wasn’t filled with rage but complicated emotions.
She wanted to get close to her mother, but she was afraid of being hurt.
That was why she had put on a facade of being angry. It was as if that was the only way she could
build up the walls with which to protect herself.
Sonia’s emotions were at their peak. Right then, one of the judges slammed her hand on the table

and renowned play–actress.
Once the woman spoke, Sonia’s focus was disrupted. She froze in place and didn’t know what to
do for a moment.
Marietta had been immersed in the performance. Now, she frowned in displeasure.
This reaction was interpreted as something else by the producer.

He had long ago heard that Marietta didn’t like others simply changing her script out of nowhere. It seemed that
Sonia had angered Marietta by doing this.
The producer didn’t dare to offend this renowned playwright. He quickly said, “What company is this actress from?
From now on, she’s not allowed to participate in anything organized by Collins Group.”
