Chapter 784
Caroline shrank in the seat as her eyes fell on the rows of cars behind them. The scenery outside looked so familiar
yet strange to her somehow.
The buildings looked familiar as if she had seen them all before, but she found it strange because they weren’t
similar to the ones in her memories.
They towered over her and seemed even cleaner than what she could recall.
About an hour later, they finally arrived at Belrene Square.
Caroline and Eddy had just gotten out of the car when they heard someone yelling. “Help! Help! There’s a
robber!”
The next second, someone dashed passed Caroline. Before she could react, Eddy had stepped forward and
grabbed the robber by the collar.

threw him to the ground with such a force that he fell on all fours.
The handbag flew out of the robber’s hands. He lay on the ground, looking all haggard and embarrassed.
Caroline picked up the handbag and handed it over to the lady who had been robbed. “Here. Your bag.”
The lady turned the bag over and over again to check its condition before turning to face Eddy and
Caroline.
“Thank you so much! You two are so kind! I had just bought this, and it would have been gone for good if
it hadn’t been for the two of you!”
After taking a look at the lady standing before her, Caroline glanced at her hand, which was tightly
clasped in Eddy’s.
Her heart didn’t flutter, yet the silhouette of a person popped up in her mind.
She wanted to recall what the person looked like but snapped back to reality when the lady said, “This
man is your husband, right? He’s a good man. You’re so lucky to have someone like him.”
Caroline simply stared at the lady, who had stars in her eyes. Despite the lady’s words, Caroline didn’t feel
happy or proud at all.
“Thank you,” she said curtly.
Soon, the cops arrived. After the robber was arrested, the lady left too.

“Let’s head inside,” said Eddy as he looked at Caroline with a smile.
He now understood that the lady just now had merely been trying to make him seem like a hero in front of –
Caroline. It was quite the trick, but he wasn’t sure if she would buy it.
His eyes were still locked on Caroline to see her reaction. To his dismay, she showed no sign of ádmiration for him.
“Okay,” she replied. Instead of bringing up the incident that happened just an moment ago, she simply followed him
to the restaurant they were headed for.

When they arrived at the restaurant, Caroline noticed that they were the only people there with the exception of
the staff.
“Have we … come to the wrong place?” she asked.
Seeing how deserted the Faromish restaurant was, she couldn’t help but take a step back in alarm.
A waiter hurriedly came to her and said, “You’re Ms. Evans, right? You aren’t mistaken. Mr. Eddy rented
out the entire place.’
Puzzled, Caroline turned to Eddy. “Eddy, did you rent the entire restaurant?”
“Um, yes,” Eddy muttered.
“Let’s go.”
They had just stepped into the restaurant when they were showered with flower petals at the door.
“How romantic!” Caroline gleefully reached out to grab some of the petals and placed them in her palm.
“Eddy, did you set this up on purpose?”
Eddy wanted to say “yes”, but when faced with her smile, he couldn’t find it in himself to lie to her. “No, I-“-
