Chapter 221
Scott's attitude toward Isaac was as cold as always and the boy was clearly driving the man away.
Isaac glanced at him. This brat's really cool when he's indifferent.
He then narrowed his eyes for a moment. "Save that. I like your mother, so I won't leave. I'll make sure
to take care of her problems," he announced firmly before striding to the bed.
Scott watched the whole scene as the well-built figure proceeded to Patricia's side to place his hands
on her shoulders in comfort.
She rested her head on his shoulder, making themselves look like a married couple.
Scott pursed his lips for a fleeting second. Before his mother was truly acknowledged and accepted,
the children would look after her so as to not expose her in any harm's way.

The next day, Elizabeth was having breakfast in the dining room at Arnold Manor as the sunlight

She elegantly took a sip of black tea, then cast a glimpse at the doors. "Is Philip up yet?"
A maid came over and responded, "He's still in bed, Old Mrs. Arnold. He's in a deep sleep."
Ever since Philip regained his consciousness, he had never gotten such a good night's sleep until now.
Instead, he kept waking up in the middle of the night and became fully awake.
The fact that he was asleep until 9.00AM was a good sign for his recovery. Then, she thought of the
incident that happened last night in which a lot of relatives asked what was going on.
Even Elizabeth could not understand why Isaac called off the engagement ceremony when it was going
to commence soon. Still, she would always be supportive of his decisions.
At that moment, a maid entered to report to her, "Old Mrs. Arnold, the Aniston Family is here."
Elizabeth put down her cup, for she had to meet the Aniston Family, whose arrival was within her
expectations.
Although she did not know the reason behind her grandson's decision to call off the engagement, she
knew how he felt.
In a light blue dress, which added lusters of grace and elegance to her appearance, she trod to the
parlor from the kitchen alongside the maid.
The trio, Adeline and her parents, were already seated in the living room.
She pulled Gwen's hand. "Mom, let's go. I'll settle this on my own."
Adeline had completely humiliated herself yesterday and even all the relatives asked her what
happened. Their gazes on her were so weird that she felt herself going to be abandoned soon.
Still, she did not wish her parents to cause a ruckus in Arnold Manor, since it was nothing more but an
agreement between her and Isaac.
Isaac hoped no one would know about it and so did she.
Gwen held her hands. "Adeline, don't be afraid. It's their fault for everything that has happened
yesterday. How can we just accept it? We must bring justice to you!"
Pursing her lips, Adeline cast a glance at Andy, whose expression was dark.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEvery member in the Aniston Family cared for him the most. Starting from a very young age, she knew
that she had to win his favor so that she and Gwen could stay in the family.
She could bully Patricia however she wished; even if she drove Patricia out of the house, this man
would not do anything to her.
This time, he was pleased by the fact that Adeline was able to marry a good man, which flattered his
vanity.
Then, he had a reality check and he could not be any sadder.
Elizabeth approached them with a smile. "Sorry for keeping you waiting."
She seated herself on the armchair before motioning the maids. "Prepare tea for the guests."
It was not until then that they became busy, for they did not pour tea with the assumption that the
Anistons were here to cause trouble.
Andy gazed at Elizabeth and said, "Old Mrs. Arnold, we're here to talk about what had happened
yesterday. What did Isaac mean by that? Why is he suddenly calling off the engagement? What do you
take our daughter for?"
Rage evidently entwined his low voice and firm tone as he spoke.
