Evan located the private room Joan had mentioned. He opened the door and saw Joan wearing a
green shirt and red pants, her makeup heavy, and her hair short.
As their eyes met, both were stunned.
Joan stood up in bewilderment. “Evan?”
Evan narrowed his eyes, and finding his voice took him some time. “Ryann?”
This name unsettled Joan. She glanced at the door behind Evan. “Close the door first.”

Evan observed Joan, surprised to discover she was Ryann, his former landlord in Spania. He had

Joan explained, “My mom hired a reliable lawyer, and I won the self–defense case. After leaving prison,
I changed my name and reconnected with my former teacher to resume my designing
career.”
Enlightened, Evan said, “Congratulations on your comeback‘
Joan laughed. “Hey, why did you want to meet me?”
Evan replied, “I want you to be the chief designer for my fashion company.”
“Sure,” Joan agreed without hesitation, having known Evan for two years and eager to assist his
company.
Evan smiled, adding, “Take on G and help my company rise in the Etes fashion industry again.”
