Chapter 5281

What a joke!

Just then, Ambrose let out a laugh of exasperation as he flared up in a fury and asked

Veron coldly, "Why should I do that? I'll say it again. We're talking about serious business.

There's no time for your nonsense."

Veron was truly crazy, making up things as she pleased.

The angrier Ambrose seemed, the more convinced Veron was that he hid something. She

called out, "If you don't do it, you're guilty. You're afraid of the baby's true identity being

revealed and that it'll affect your reputation as well as that of the Elysium Gate. More

importantly, you just want to protect this hussy, right?"

As he spoke, Veron did not forget to glower at Heather viciously.

"Shut up!"

Ambrose was nothing but furious, roaring the words as he finally nodded.

"Fine, I'll do the damn blood match, but hear me loud and clear. If the baby isn’t related to

me, you'll leave me alone forever." 1

Ambrose was truly enraged then.

Veron was too much-hitting Heather and going as far as to say that the baby was his.

However, Ambrose knew that if he did not prove his relationship with the child, Veron

would never let it go.

Whew...

Veron bit her lip as she smirked. "Very well. If the child has nothing to do with you, I'll get

out of your life forever. What happens if you're related?" "That's up to you," Ambrose said

without hesitation. 1

The child belonged to the Sea Dragon Empress, and Ambrose had nothing to do with her

at all. He was not worried in the slightest about Veron's antics.

Seeing as a bet was forming, everyone frowned to themselves.

The discussion about how to face up against the Sea Dragon palace was no light matter,

and it was bad enough that Veron was there to cause chaos. Ambrose, the head of the

Elysium Gate, playing along was a little out of line.

At the thought, Chester frowned as he said to Ambrose, "That's enough, Amby. Stop this

nonsense."

As the words rang through the air, Dax could not help but call out loudly as well.

"This is really getting more out of hand by the second. The baby clearly belongs to the Sea

Dragon Empress. How could it have anything to do with Amby?"

As he spoke, Dax glanced at Veron. "Young lady, you should really settle whatever it is

between you and Amby on your own. Don't you find it embarrassing, causing such a scene

here?"

Dax was a straightforward man. He spoke his mind regardless of who it was directed

toward.

Veron was deeply displeased at Dax's words, but she did not dare to say anything in

response. Everyone in the New World knew that Dax had an infamously hot temper, and

he was easily enraged.

Veron held back her rage, keeping silent and pretending she had not heard anything.

Seeing that only enraged Dax even further. He was about to continue, but Ambrose

stopped him.

Darryl strode over, pulling Dax back and saying in an unreadable tone," Uncle Dax, I know

what she's like. If I don't give her an answer today, she'll never let it go. It's just a blood

match. Won't take long at all." 4

Ambrose called for a servant to prepare a white clay bowl and water as he spoke.

Upon Ambrose's command, Chester and Dax did not stop him anymore.

After preparing everything, Ambrose took out a dagger. He pierced through the skin on his

finger, squeezing out a drop of blood into the bowl.

Following that, Ambrose beckoned for Heather to come forward with the child.

Just then, Heather bit her lip as she frowned reluctantly. "Do you really want to do this? It's

just a baby, wouldn't piercing the skin hurt?"

Heather had a kind heart, and she was still concerned for the baby at a time like that

instead of being angry at Veron for making a scene.

Ambrose let out a sigh as he comforted her with a smile. "I won't cut as deep. It'll be fine."

He held the baby's tiny palm in his hand as he spoke, pricking the middle finger lightly.

Waah!

The child had been sleeping, and began to wail at the sharp pain as the blood gushed out.

Heather's heart ached, and she rushed to the side with the child in her arms as she fussed

and cooed in an attempt to comfort the poor child, the blood left forgotten.

That was because Heather knew the child was not her and Ambrose's.
