All at once, the main hall fell deadly silent.
Everyone, including Chester, Dax, and the rest, stopped short in shock.
Chester frowned and could not help but exclaim, "Veron, how dare you do something so
insolent?!"
He was quite close with the leader of the Lange household, and he could be considered to
be Veron's elder.
The Hidden Hero Sect members knew of Veron's feelings for Ambrose, and Chester was no
exception to that information.
However, he never would have guessed that Veron would strike Heather over personal

Everyone stared at Heather and the child in her arms, nothing but shock on their faces.
What was Veron saying? The child... was Heather's own?
Ambrose was even more enraged as he stared intently at Veron and roared, "What are you
talking about? What nonsense is this about having a child? Don't you run your mouth."
He had done absolutely nothing with Heather. How could he let her make up such tall
tales?
Heather, especially, still had her purity fully intact. There was no way Ambrose could let
Veron insult her so.
Just then, Heather returned to her senses as she stared at Veron and spoke gently.
"I... Miss Lange, I know you hate me, but the feelings of the heart cannot be forced. It was
wrong of Ambrose to treat you the way he did, but despite your rage, you can't just be
making up things. This child belongs to the Sea Dragon Empress. How could I have given
birth?"
Heather's emotions were extremely calm as she was not in the slightest bit angry at being
hit. Instead, she felt sympathy for Veron for acting to such an extent over her feelings for
Ambrose.

Veron could barely hear her. She smirked coldly as she sneered, "Drop the act, you hussy.
The baby's yours and Ambrose's. If you didn't give birth to the child, why would you watch
over it day and night as if it was your own?"
Ambrose was thoroughly angered, and he shouted, "Shut your mouth!
Heather is a kind woman, and she's been taking care of the poor child out of sheer pity for
not having a mother. What's wrong with that?"

As the words rang through the air, Chester took a breath and looked at Veron solemnly.
"Stop this nonsense, Veron. We're talking about serious business. Your personal affairs
with Ambrose can wait, alright?"
Veron seemed to have no intention of leaving at all.
Veron took a deep breath, calling out to Chester. "Uncle Chester, I'm not trying to make a
scene. The baby indeed belongs to this hussy and Ambrose."
As she spoke the words, Veron's face was nothing but determined.
What a crazy woman.
Ambrose was thoroughly enraged then, his eyes flashing bloodshot as he glowered at
Veron.
"You keep insisting that the baby's mine and Heather's. Well, what proof do you have?"
Proof?!
Veron smiled. "I haven't got any proof, but do you dare do a blood match right now?"
The hospital results did not have Ambrose or the baby's name on them; thus, it could not
count as solid proof. However, Veron was not worried at all. As long as Ambrose dared to
do a blood match there and then, the truth would be revealed for sure.
