Chapter 4831
Old Master Stanford trembled with anger as he pointed at Herod. "You... You're someone of
considerable status yourself, Herod Houllier. Aren't you afraid you'll become a laughing
stock, trying to use a weak lady as blackmail? Let her go now."
He had his daughter at a pretty old age, and he loved her to no end. How could he hold
back his anger when he saw Herod threatening Selina with a dagger?
Old Master Stanford called out to Selina as he spoke, "Don't you worry,
Selina! I'm here!"
Selina was a lot stronger than one would expect. Her frail face was not the slightest bit
nervous. Instead, she was impossibly calm.
She said to Old Master Stanford, "Don’t you worry about me, Father.
Besides, I haven't got much longer left to live with this illness of mine. Let them kill me if
they want. There's no way we're handing over anything of the Stanfords to these
imbeciles."
Sigh-

The other members of the Stanfords squirmed about as well, struggling to hide their fear.
The High Lady was far too headstrong for her own good. She would regret it.
At the same time, Darryl stopped short before marveling at himself. Who would have
thought that Selina could hold her ground so well despite being so frail?
"Oh?"
Herod was in shock at the situation as well. He smiled at Selina in disbelief.
"Who would've thought this frail little lady would turn out to be such a hero? So, you're not
afraid of death, are you?"
Selina did not even look him in the eye, turning to show her pale neck. "Not one bit. Kill
me if you must. I'm telling you, the lot of you won't be smug for long. The authorities are
going to get you." "Ho ho..."
Herod did not flare up in anger. Instead, he raised his eyebrows in interest.
"Alright, then. I won't kill you since you want to die so bad. Besides, I'm not someone who
kills frail women like you. Wouldn't it be a shame to kill off someone so beautiful,
anyway?"
Selina remained silent, not saying a single word, while Herod only grew more excited as he
spoke.
"I heard you're getting married soon. To a complete good-for-nothing, too! Am I right?"
Herod's gaze spun around the room as an idea began to formulate in his head as he
spoke.
Selina was not afraid of dying, but her fiance was a notorious coward and imbecile. If
Herod could yank him out and ask him where the treasure was, he would be finished.
Selina remained silent, but her gaze flicked in Darryl's direction slightly.
Truthfully, Selina had never seen that fiance of hers. Out of all those who were part of the
Stanfords, Darryl was the only person she did not recognize.
"Hoho!"
Despite having only looked once, Heron still spotted it.
The next second, Herod raised a finger to point at Darryl. "Have him tied up for me, now!"
Herod smirked at Selina. "Little Miss Stanford! This must be your fiance if I've observed

married?"
Everyone, including Old Master Stanford, could not help but gasp.
Herod had truly gone too far, using the son-in-law as blackmail. Despite being a good-for-
nothing, Derrick was still the future son-in-law of the Stanfords. Indeed, Selina would
become a widow if she were to be killed.
Old Master Stanford was both shocked and furious.
Despite having never liked Derrick, he had only sought him to be his son-in- law to bring
fortune to his daughter. If he were to die tonight, all that hard work from before would
have equated to nothing.
"You're shameless!"
Selina's face flushed as she could not help but cry out in anger.
At her response, Herod scoffed coldly. "So, Miss Stanford truly has a heart of steel,
uncaring even of her fiance. Alright, then. Slice his chest open. These Stanfords think
we're all talk. We've got to give them something to show for."
