Chapter 4608
Everyone thought that once the fiend race was defeated, peace would be bestowed back
to the world. Who knew things would not go according to plan. After the death of the Nine
Heaven Emperor, Master Magaera and the rest of the officials had elected the reckless
Prince Auten to be the new ruler.
With the enchantment barrier reappearing in The Nine Mainland, everyone felt insecure. It
was not known when the world could finally have its peace.
As Darryl was deep in thought, he quickly strode to the door.
Before Darryl reached the door, many of the disciples saw him. They were shocked and
extremely excited. They quickly approached him, surprised. 1
"Darryl?"
"Darryl's back!"
"Darryl?"
The group of people who were having a meeting in the lobby rushed out in a hurry after
hearing the commotion. All of them felt thrilled when they saw it was really Darryl who
had returned. 1
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSara could not hide her happiness as her body shook excitingly. "Darryl, you are finally
back..." 1
Before she finished speaking, she threw herself into Darryl's arms.
"I thought you were in danger and would never return," she cried in happiness.
Darryl smiled and patted Sara's shoulder while comforting her, "I'm a strong and powerful
man, so how can anything happen to me?"
Sara's sobbing face became a smiling one when she heard that.
Darryl turned his attention to Yvette. "Yvette, I'm glad to see you are fine."
He had been worried about her ever since she was left behind when he was forcefully
brought to the Godly Region.
Yvette was smiling and seemed to be unhurt. "Yes, I'm fine!"
She felt a gurgling sense of warmth and fuzziness at Darryl's concern. She smiled and
continued to say, "Though I'm worried about you. There was no news of you after you
were captured and The Nine Mainland enchanted barrier appeared again. Not to mention
the soldiers and generals the Godly Region deployed had set up a Heaven Watcher,
making everyone panic."
Her exquisite face became worried when she mentioned the last part.
There was a rumor when The Nine Mainland enchanted barrier appeared that Master
Magaera had come down too. She made a decision to leave the Palace then and retreated
to the Carter's place with everyone else.
Darryl took a deep breath and was sporting a deep frown. At that moment, Dax walked
over and playfully punched Darryl's shoulder with a smile." Darryl, you're finally back. Did
you know how worried everyone was? Not to mention that so many things happened while
you were gone. We nearly had a misunderstanding with Yvette-"
Dax had always been the straightforward-say-it-like-it-is type. He did not have the chance
to finish his story before Yvette cut him off, "Dax, let bygones be bygones."
She did not want to burden Darryl with what had happened in the past now that he was
finally back.
Nearly had a misunderstanding?' Darryl was stunned for a moment. He noticed everyone's
expressions were a little embarrassed and could not help but ask, "What
misunderstanding? What happened?"
Everyone looked at each other and was reluctant to answer him.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAt that moment, Chester walked over with a smile. "We might as well tell Darryl what
happened since Dax couldn't keep his mouth shut."
Then, he put his hand on Darryl's shoulder and said with all seriousness," Darryl, you have
no idea how much suffering Yvette has gone through.
After you were captured, she became possessed by Archfiend Antigonus and rounded up
everyone. Fortunately, she woke up at the most crucial moment."
Chester was ashamed to let Darryl know all this after he failed to take good care of his
sworn brother's family when he was gone.
'What? Something like this actually happened?' Darryl was shaken.
He looked deeply into Yvette's eyes and said ruefully, "Yvette, I'm so sorry that you had to
suffer so much!" 1
He then folded her into his embrace as guilt filled his heart. After all, Yvette was a princess
of the New World Royals. She used to live a carefree and sheltered life until she came to
the Carter family after the death of the New World Emperor. Darryl had promised her a
happy life, but alas, he had failed to fulfill his duty on account of all the turmoil in the
world. In fact, the times they had been apart were far more than the times they were
together. 1
"Don't be,” said Yvette when she sensed how much he was beating himself up. She gently
rested her head on his chest. "I'm fine, am I not?"
