Chapter 4494
Darryl heard footsteps approaching the Sky Prison.
It sounded like only one person, but that person was extremely powerful and strong.
Crap.
Darryl opened his eyes, staring intently at the entrance of the Sky Prison.
'Did the Nine Heaven Emperor already sentence me to death?'
Just as Darryl pondered that, a handsome figure could be seen walking into the prison with
big strides. He was clad in a gold helmet, radiating authority and power.
It was Master Magaera.
Darryl grew uneasy. Yet he put on a cold expression, flashing a brief smile." What's up?
Has the Nine Heaven Emperor confirmed my death sentence already? Sending the great
Master Magaera to see me off too, I must be worth the while.”
Darryl's brain worked furiously to think of an escape plan.
However, the powers in his body had been sealed, and he was weak. There was no way he
could do anything at all.
Master Magaera scoffed at Darryl, saying coldly, "Pretty fearless for someone about to die,
smiling and everything."
As he spoke, an unreadable expression passed through Master Magaera's features. He
said, "I must say, I have quite the respect for you. Singlehandedly putting the Godly
Region and the fiend race into such chaos. I don't think anyone else could have done the
same."
Darryl scratched his head awkwardly, managing a smile. "You're too kind, Master
Magaera."
As he fought the fear in his chest, Darryl asked, "Are you going to kill me now?"
Darryl was filled with nothing but dread.
It appeared he could not escape death anyway.
Master Magaera laughed. "And here I thought you were not afraid of anything. Guess
you're pretty scared of death like everyone else too."
Master Magaera's gaze was filled with condescension.
Darryl decided there was no point in wasting any more words. He flashed a bitter smile.
"Fine, I'll shut up. If you're here to kill me, do it now!"
Darryl closed his eyes.
He was thoroughly devoid of hope.
Brother Chester, Brother Dax, Yvette, Shannon, and the rest of the Nine Mainland people.
I'll see you in another life.'
However, after about ten seconds of Darryl shutting his eyes, Master Magaera did not
seem to have done anything. Darryl was slightly confused.
What was going on?
As he pondered that, Darryl opened his eyes. He was faced with the sight of Master
Magaera, watching him with a gaze laced with amusement.
"Listen!"
Master Magaera said, "You're pretty lucky today. The fiend race asks for you in exchange
for the Ancient Ancestor's fairy soul. You're not going to die. For now."
Master Magaera had never liked Darryl, and he had wanted to kill him then and there. Yet,
he held it in for the sake of the bigger picture.
Master Magaera strode toward him. He hauled Darryl upright in a single move and led him
out of the Sky Prison.
What?
Darryl felt an unspeakable discomfort as the other man tugged him along. However,
nothing could compare to the shock in his heart.
The Ancient Ancestor's fairy soul was with the fiend race?
When did that happen?
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDarryl asked, "What's happening? Why is the fiend race asking for me in exchange for the
Ancient Ancestor's fairy soul?"
Master Magaera did not respond as he continued to head in the direction of the exchange
location.
Meanwhile, at the Sealed Fiend Mountain.
After she took on Blaise's physical form, Empress Nuwa headed for the Sealed Fiend
Mountain immediately. It had been a rather successful journey.
Just then, Empress Nuwa landed at the black palace in the Sealed Fiend Mountain. She
saw Archfiend Antigonus sitting on his throne, tossing the Soul Requiem Stone in his
hands. Thoth, Ganon, and the other Fiend Martyrs stood on either side of him.
"Blaise!"
When Empress Nuwa entered the room, Archfiend Antigonus flashed a smile. He spoke in
a tone laced with firmness, "How did things go? Did that idiot emperor agree to the swap?"
Antigonus had not realized that the Blaise standing before him had lost control of his fiend
soul and consciousness. It was Empress Nuwa who stood before him.
Whew!
Empress Nuwa let out a soft breath and walked forward slowly. "Your Excellency, they
agreed to the exchange."
