Chapter 476
Theo raised both hands to surrender. "Fine, fine. I'll walk home.”
I nodded in satisfaction.
In truth, I did not want him to walk back. | just wanted to give him a chance to return to the restaurant. After
what happened in the private room, | figured he would want to talk to Zedd and Mason about it. 2
As for Cindy, | was not the least bit worried that she would pester Theo. She probably no longer had the guts to
speak nonsense in front of them anymore.
When | drove hand entered the villa, | saw Quinn sitting in the living room. | did not want to greet her, s 0 |
handed my coat to Miss Woods and planned to go upstairs straight away.
When | was almost at the staircase, Quinn called out t 0 me.

"Let's have a chat," Quinn said with a smile.
| sneered and walked up to her. "Do you think we have a lot to say to each other, Ms. Grant? You've already
expressed your desire to go againstwhen you took Cindy's side, no?"
"Of course, I'm not trying to go against you." Quinn raised her eyebrows. "You just have to cooperate first."
| smirked. "I'd like to say that your method of threatening others is quite childish."
Quinn raised her eyebrow. "Who cares if it's childish? Most importantly is if it works."
| chuckled but made no reply.
Since she thought that | was concerned about whether Cindy would break my marriage or not, | might as well
just let her think so. It would be pretty interesting to see her pull tricks like a clown.
"Would you like to work with me, then?" Quinn asked with a smile.
| crossed my arms and looked at her indifferently. "M s. Grant, although Carlson has takenin as his
goddaughter, he won't helpeven if | begged him. Besides, do you really think the Nietzsches will let you
push them around?
"Do you think the Nietzsches will agree to stop the investigation just because you told them to? In fact, | think
that you should cooperate with the police if you're really that innocent. When you're cleared of all suspicion, then
you'll be able to live freely.”
Quinn's countenance grew grim after hearing what | said. "So you don’t want to work with me?"
I nodded with a smile. "Ms. Grant, | can't be any clearer."
Quinn narrowed her eyes. "You don’t care even if | keep helping Cindy wreck your marriage?"
"I can’t stop you from doing what you want, Ms. Grant. Similarly, you can't stopfrom doing what | want. If
you insist on going against me, then don’t blme for doing things to upset you."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAfter a pause, | continued, "Of course, | wish to be in harmony with you too, Ms. Grant. After all, isn’t it much
better to have a friend than an enemy?"
At this point, | could no longer control whether she would listen toor not. | did not care either.
When | returned to my room and went to the bathroom, | realized that | was on my period. After cleaning up, |
got Miss Woods to makea glass of warm ginger juice. Ever since | lost my child, my stomach would be
particularly sore and ache badly every t| had my period. | did not look forward to having my period at all
because | would be in pain for a few days every tit happened.
After drinking the ginger juice Miss Woods made me, | lay on the sofa and planned to take a nap when Theo
chome. | did not open my eyes. After a while, | felt a blanket being placed on top of me.
| opened my eyes. "You really walked home?"
"How could | be so bold as to not listen to my beloved wife?" Theo looked like he was in a good mood. "I walked
past a dessert shop and bought scakes. Want to get up and have some?"
