"I'm all ears." Her soft voice comes through. I clear my throat and adjust on my seat again.
"Um... I uh..." The back of my neck heats just as the thought of how she'd react after I say what I want to say. It's not a very pleasant thing and I can only hope she doesn't get too upset. My hand goes behind my head and I nervously scratch it. "I uh..." "You..." She asks with raised brows, watchingintensely and following my every move with her eyes.
"Well... the thing is, I used to have feelings for Ashanti." I drop the bomb and wait for its after effect.

No reaction is usually a very bad sign.

"What do you mean nothing?" "I mean nothing because I knew that." Now I'm confused. I tilt my head to the side and give her a critical look that makes her chuckle.
"What the hell do you mean by that?" "Well... the thing is, Ashanti always toldabout how nice you were to her when we just got here. How you treated her with so much care and concern at the training arena, how you showed up at the lounge to steal her away each tshe was called up to serve other men and many other instances I can't quite remember anymore. When she explained all these things to me, I figured that you like her and tried to make her understand her but she wouldn't have it. So yeah..." Her shoulders rise and fall. "I knew." There's no trace of jealousy or annoyance in her voice. The smile on her face is just as genuine as every other smile she has ever givenand she looks okay with it.
I am so flabbergasted, it makeschuckle.
I turn my head to the side and chuckle in complete disbelief. A girl can't be this sweet and understanding. The Moon goddess is definitely playing games with me.
"What's funny?" I instantly whip my head in her direction and shake it.
"Nothing." A small sigh. "Nothing baby... I'm just you know... happy that you're taking this so well. But hey..." I kiss her hands. "That was all before I found you. Tessa I swear on my life that that night I first saw you, every feeling I've ever had for any other girl flew right out of my heart, my soul, my entire being and right now, I am filled with just my feelings for you and no one else. You are my mate and I love you more than life itself." "And I know that." She leans close and plants a small peck on my lips. "I'm very much aware of that. I used to have a few crushes here and there before I found you too, but just like you, those loitering feelings dissolved the second I saw you. It's just us now." "Yeah. It's just us now." "Right. Now, let's not stray from the topic at hand. Let's go back to talking about how to get Ashanti out of this mess." "Yeah..." I clear my throat and take a more comfortable posture on the chair. "Right. Ashanti. Where were we?" "Like I said before, I know who to contact. It's not going to be easy, but I'm going to try and talk to the girls whom I know Alina has recruited once or twice or three times to carry out her evil deeds. I'm even going to visit the ones who have been locked up in the dungeon. For that, I'll need you to abuse your power for a bit so I can have access to them. Can you do that?" "Yes. I can." "Good. I'm going to talk with those girls and see what I can get out of them or if I can get them to confess with their own mouths what Alina has made them do. I'm sure that will help." "It will, my love. It will help a great deal." A moment of silence goes by.

Her assurance givesso much hope. Calmly, I lay my head on he her chest and draw in a deep breath when she wraps her arms aroundand starts stroking my hair. We're going to do this. We'll expose Alina and set Ashanti free.
