Chapter 1768
Ellinor’s lips curled into a sardonic smile. “If you’re so concerned about your dad, shouldn’t you be at the hospital?
Why are you here?”
Byran, arms folded, replied, “Isn’t it lunchtime? My brother is keeping an eye on our dad at the hospital, so I
thought I’d step out and grab a bite with Ida. Sis, how about you join me at the hospital to check on Dad after
lunch?”
Ellinor responded coldly, “No, thanks. He’s your dad, not mine.”
Byran pouted. “Ellinor, can’t you just see him as an elderly man who could use some compassion?”
Ellinor laughed. “I’d rather use that time to care for stray cats and dogs. Why should I worry about a middle-aged
man who’s never experienced hardship?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCaught off guard, Byran stammered, “Uh…”
After finishing the sushi Chase had fed her, Belinda chimed in. “Nice try, Byran. Don’t think you can trick Ellinor into
going to the hospital. Didn’t you hear that we’ve planned to go wedding dress shopping together?”
Byran glanced at Belinda, choosing not to engage in a battle of wits with her. However, he couldn’t help but worry
about how he would explain things to his father at the hospital later.
After lunch, the group made their way to Greenhaven’s most famous high-end wedding dress shop.
With Belinda and Chase’s wedding only two days away, there wasn’t time for a custom gown. They would have to
select an off-the-rack dress and have it altered.
Faced with an assortment of beautiful gowns, Belinda felt somewhat overwhelmed. If only she could clone herself
and try them all on.
“Ellinor, which style do you think would suit me best? I love them all! The ones with a train, the mermaid cuts, and
the ones with a full skirt.”
Belinda clung to Ellinor’s arm, struggling to decide.
Ellinor, scanning the dresses, commented. “Your figure would look great in a dress with a train.”
While Belinda trusted Ellinor’s opinion, she found it hard to make a decision and turned to Ida, who was standing
nearby.
“Ms. Gipson, what do you think? Which style looks best?”
Ida, seemingly allergic to anything romantic, looked at the sea of white gowns with a lack of interest that was
unusual for most girls.
At this moment, she looked slightly exasperated and rubbed her temple. “Don’t ask me; you should ask him. He
seems to know more about this stuff.”
She pointed her chin in the direction of Byran, who was diligently selecting a dress.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBelinda followed Ida’s gaze and saw Byran holding a dress and comparing it with her from a distance. He looked
more serious than when he was playing video games.
She couldn’t help but smirk at the amusing sight and whispered to Ida, “Honestly, Ms. Gipson, have you ever
considered marrying that guy? He seems pretty serious about you.”
Ida squinted at Belinda. “Would you marry someone like him?”
Belinda pondered for a moment. “Well… if I liked him, of course, I would. I’m even ready to marry Chase, who’s
quite a womanizer, so why should I fear Byran? He’s a true love warrior.”
Upon hearing Chase’s name, Ida suddenly realized that Byran wasn’t that bad. “You have a point.”
“Hey, why are you two gossiping about me?”
Chase’s voice suddenly interrupted their conversation. At the same moment, Belinda felt a pair of muscular arms
wrap around her waist.
Belinda forced a smile. “No, no, we weren’t talking about you. We were discussing Byran.”
“Really?” Chase rested his chin on Belinda’s shoulder and nuzzled her cheek. “But I distinctly heard you mention my
name. I have a keen ear for when you call my name, so I wouldn’t have misheard.”
