Chapter 1533

Ellinor nodded. She watched him drive away, then she carried her son and entered the Blanchet family’s door.

As soon as she entered, she bumped into Veronica, who was sneaking around near the front door.

Veronica emerged from behind an old tree, frowning as she asked, “Sis, weren’t you supposed to be out with

Belinda? How come it was the guy from the Rex family who brought you home? Do you usually keep in touch with

him?”

Holding the child, Ellinor glanced at her and said as she walked inside, “Belinda is still at her friend’s place. I ran into

Bartlett, and he gave us a ride home.” A chance encounter? Bartlett just happened to be going the same way?

Veronica pursed her lips skeptically. “Since when are such coincidences so common?”

Ellinor arched an eyebrow. “What? Do you think it wasn’t a coincidence? Or are you suspicious of me? Or perhaps

you’re suspicious of Bartlett?”

Upon hearing the irritation in her sister-in-law’s voice, Veronica quickly waved her hands. “No, no! How could I ever

doubt you? I’m just suspicious of Bartlett and his intentions towards you. You should be careful; try to limit your

contact with him in the future.”

“Even if it wasn’t a coincidence, he was only seeking me out for a business collaboration. Don’t overthink it.”

Veronica followed along after Ellinor. “Business collaboration? What kind of collaboration does our family have with

the Rex family?”

Since the deal wasn’t settled yet, Ellinor didn’t feel like explaining it to Veronica, who didn’t understand these

matters. She looked at Veronica and asked, “Where are Baber and Layla?”

Veronica pointed towards a corner of the garden. “Baber and Layla are flying kites over there. I had a few of our

house servants accompany them. I was just with them, but when I saw Bartlett bringing you home, I came over.”

Ellinor glanced towards the garden. Sure enough, Baber and Layla were flying something. When she looked up at

the sky, she was surprised by the kite’s design.

She was a bit surprised. That kite… how did…”

Veronica flicked her chin up, looking proud. “Hehe! You noticed! That kite is the same one that Adrian chased after

at the picnic that day. It took me a lot of effort to find out where they sell them, and I even had someone buy it

from abroad. Adrian hasn’t been in good spirits lately, right? I thought seeing this kite would make him happy.”

Ellinor was touched by Veronica’s thoughtfulness. She was very caring and attentive towards the children, no less

than a mother.

However…

Ellinor looked at the child sleeping in her arms with a complex expression.

The child with her now was not Adrian, but the one she lost three years ago.

And the kite Adrian chased a while ago belonged to the child in her arms.

Seeing something identical to what he already had probably wouldn’t make him too thrilled.

Veronica might be disappointed.

Before Ellinor could say anything, Veronica was already eager. “Wake Adrian up quickly and let him see this kite!

Hahaha, I really want to see his reaction when he’s too happy to say a word!”

Ellinor shook her head, not letting Veronica wake the child. “Let him see it when he wakes up. He just fell asleep. If

he’s woken up abruptly, he’ll be grumpy and won’t be happy. You go and play with Baber and Layla. I’ll come over

later.”

After saying this, Ellinor carried the child into the house.

Did Adrian have a morning temper? Veronica scratched her head in confusion. After seeing Ellinor go inside, she

took out her phone and called Belinda. “Hey! Belinda, what are you doing? Weren’t you supposed to have your

psychologist friend give Ellinor some counseling? Why did Bartlett end up bringing her home instead? You didn’t

even bother to bring her home yourself and gave other men an opportunity to swoop/in!”

“It was Ellinor who didn’t wait for me. She took Adrian and left. I was totally caught off guard. You saw Bartlett bring

her home?”
